really not made for texturing, even with the dev kits
I've been considering this avatar for a while, it was nice to see something that wasn't just the same hourglass body done over and over but was also not a hyper-sexualized version of what most porn artists think fat people looked like. Yet when looking for skin mods, just to see what it had, I was very surprised! there's, barely anything, and I've seen the June and Johnathan on the mp for a while, at least the piggu store logo for years.
Being a texture artist, I figured this was an untapped market, I was sort of excited to make something for this avatar because I thought it was pretty cute, but then, I saw the UV, or more accurately, the UVs...
This avatar, at MINUMUM, takes 3 textures, but that's without the head, no eyes, no fingernails. The head itself, has 2 uvs, for what you may ask? Well, the face is cut off from the rest of the head, why? I have no idea! I can't possibly think of a reason why it would need to be like that! If you were to have, just a fully naked avatar, no hair, nothing, it would be SEVEN separate textures, which is completely unnecessary.
There's also, not really a reason for June and Jonathan to have different uvs, either. You ABSOLUTELY could have had them both share a uv with little to no downsides, at least not enough to make it a pain for texture artists to deal with. I 100% would have dealt with the awful uv situation if it meant I could at least make something for both of them with just edits to make them fit the avatar's gender. I've textured many avatars that have a significantly more exaggerated shape differance that shared the same uv with no issues.
I desperately want to work with this avatar, but the amount of time and effort I would have to put in on what is very much an extremely niche avatar, it's just not in any way worth it. I am begging you to do something about the uv, make this avatar content creator friendly so I can stop seeing crunchy Maitreyas trying to be what this avatar can so easily provide
I Can Identify With This Avatar
I can identify with this avatar because she looks like me shape-wise. The updates are a plus and I like the textures provided. She's pretty and comes complete. I am satisfied
