This set includes two boats, one is the ready to sail version and the other is the "park at my dock" hi detail version.
Using the excellent "Bwind" sail script, there are just a few commands to start and stop and the arrow keys steer the boat. The direction and speed of the wind is easy to set or you can just accept the automatic wind each time you sail.
Once sailing you don't have to do anything (except avoid the land!) and this gives you time to chat to friends, take in the scenery and enjoy a relaxing trip.
There is even an automatic motor which switches on when you lower the sails to make it easy in harbours or narrow rivers.
Friends can dangle over the front of the boat and watch the fishes, or stretch out on the cabin roof to catch a few rays or be friendly and join you at the back in the cockpit. They just click to sit - easy.
The boat is called "Calypso" but click the name and you get a menu of other possible names you might llike - if you have a special name you need then just e-mail Telling Marine and we can do a custom job for you for just 100LE
The national flag defaults to the UK Red Ensign because the boat is British made. Click the flag to cycle through 30 popular national flags. If you need a special flag then contact Telling Marine and we'll try to help.
Included inside the boat are notecards with a user manual for the boat and suggested places to rez your Calypso and explore the Second Life Seas.

a nice boat 3 star but happy ;( it had look much better like the picture so it was a bit disepointed
I got this one and it looks good like the boats i have but this one is no mesh but a picture on the upside and the windows so that not wat i expected ;(
the boat sails good verry pretty one , the engine thats were i was look fore was a bit hard to find ,it start when u lower the sails
the little engine works good but have less power oke but its a sailboat , so harbour work oke
the outside was wat i not expected on the picture it shows a nice mesh shine boat , that is it not !
functions al thats is there and it works verry good . i hope a mesh update .for now its in inven .
good for beginners
After a little confusion over how to set the wind... use the letters e n s w by themselves and then hit enter and then use the windspeed 8 16 by itself and hit enter on your local chat... then it was fine. If you type hud in local chat it reduces the amount of text or not. You can slow the boat just by using arrows up and down to go "unfavorable" such as blue or yellow... watch your real speed drop... good for tricky places... you cannot point into the wind... eg sail west if the wind is from the west... so point diagonally northwest or southwest using your left - right arrow keys and then use the up down arrow keys until you begin to move once more... fun, once you understand.
nice boat
Have a couple of boats on SL, do love this one. The best part I had a question that needed answered and Rim answered me promptly. Support means a lot.
Great value for a noob like me
I just love this little boat, it's so simple to use and very pretty to look at. I think the guy who says it doesn't let you change the wind is wrong - n s e w ne sw etc etc all work for me - maybe he had CAPS on or something. I have sailed it from Sailor's Cove all the way to Dex - brilliant on high res and no crashes which i do get in a plane or balloon. For L$ 279 it's a genuine bargain. I called mine "Vitamin C" gimme a wave if you see it. :)
oh well great !
rezzes invisible, or nowhere to be seen, but it is there on the sim
very very dissapointed......
Great Value for the Price - Needs Some Work
Ok, let's get the obvious out of the way. The good sailboats in SL cost $2500 - $5000. This boat costs $279. So linden dollar for linden dollar, this is easily a great value. However, there are a few issues.
The boat's controls are solely controlled by voice commands; there are no click-to-get-menu options to control the boat. Also, the boat advertises the ability to change wind direction and speed, which in fact, are part of the coding on the wind engine. However, this doesn't work at all. And, finally, the spinnaker (which again is part of the engine coding) is listed in the instructions, but this doesn't work, either.
All, in all, this is a fun little boat to good around in. And, it looks great. But, if you want fully functional SL boat physics, chances are that you'll have to spend more.
