This script allows you to customize a random (or stable, if desired) flickering effect in a prim, allowing you full use of the Fullbright, Glow, and Light settings to create the visual effect you want.
Additionally, the script allows you easy and powerful customization options for the timing of the flickering, allowing you to make it fast, slow, random and chaotic, timed and predictable, or almost completely stable except for a flicker once in a blue moon, if desired.
The script is great for any light source that needs to turn on and off at timed intervals, whether those intervals be random or predictable. Broken neon signs, blinking signs, spooky effects, eyes in the dark, sci-fi equipment and lightning are all fun examples of how to use the script :)

I wanted to try and use this to make the inside/back of my fireplace to flicker when the fire was on. I could maybe do a few more tweaks to the numbers in the notecard config but I think what I have so far worked out well to get the effect.

My settings for this particular fireplace I used -
Flickering prim transparency = 78
Color RGB = 13, 13, 13
Glow 0.01
Notecard config -
Seconds between checks: 0.03
% chance of turning OFF when ON: 50
% chance of turning ON when OFF: 100

Perfect script, does exactly as described. Gives you full control over individual prim faces which is a must. Highly recommended.
The Be-All End-All Flicker Script
I used this script where all others failed, in a single object mesh item with two texture faces. It works perfectly without causing the non-light non-full bright face to change states, something all other scripts I'd tried did. The amount of options this script allows for are astounding. I'm truly blown away by this!

Worth the money. Perfect effect for a broken/flickering neon sign. Best I found on the market. Wish I had just shelled out the money first. It's the most expensive I found, but obviously for a reason. Doesn't just flicker on and off between a set time, but does it randomly. Which others didn't tend to do. Five stars.
