Walkie Talkie
from Digital Stimulus Studios
by Digital Dharma

*These scripts are designed to run clean and efficient, contributing very little to sim lag.

GENERAL
=====

The Walkie Talkie is designed as a HUD attachment and is designed to work within the same region as other people with the walkie talkies, if you are looking for cross-sim / multi-region communications, please do a search for the "SIMple Chat" networked chat system.

- Easy to use, picks up regular chat from the owner only and broadcasts it on the selected channel.
- Walkie Talkie supports 9 different channels for communication (1-9).
- Encryption is also supported with one click on the blue encryption button.
- Allow other people to listen (but not chat) by turning the volume to HIGH.
- Channel scanning allows automated scanning through channels 1-9 to try and pickup any activity.
- Walkie Talkie also allows for silent usage.

HOW TO USE
========

RED BUTTON - Turns the Walkie Talkie on and off.
BLUE BUTTON - Toggles encryption on and off.

When the Walkie Talkie is on, chat like you normally would and your message will be broadcasted throughout the region. Anyone with a Walkie Talkie tuned to the same channel (and with the same encryption passphrase key if used) will be able to pickup the message.

If you wish to broadcast your message silently where other avatars around cannot see the message, put a "/#" before the message, where # is the channel the walkie talkie is on.
Example: If the walkie talkie is on channel 4, you would type...
/4 Hello World!

VOLUME
=====

To adjust the volume, press the up and down arrows on the right side of the Walkie Talkie.

By default, the Walkie Talkie comes set to LOW volume. The different volume levels are as follows:
MUTE: Mutes the Walkie Talkie.
LOW: Only the owner will see the Walkie Talkie messages.
HIGH: Avatars within 20m will see the Walkie Talkie messages.

CHANNELS
======

To the channel the Walkie Talkie is on, press the up and down arrows on the left side of the Walkie Talkie.

The Walkie Talkie only supports channels 1-9.

ENCRYPTION
=======

When you press the BLUE BUTTON, the Walkie Talkie will state that encryption has been turned on and will ask you to chat the passphrase that will be used for encryption and decryption. If your group or party would like to encrypt your message to prevent spying eyes, everyone must be on the same channel and use the EXACT same passphrase/key (capitalization and spacing matters)!
