I'm proud to present this Falling Snow System - a mesh based snow making HUD which focusses on natural swirling snowfall to add to your winter scene. You can create an area of snowfall and choose from a variety of snow fall parameters. You can customise your snow fall area - for example - add more falling snow along a road area or remove snow from inside building. Operates at ground level or on a sky box.

For the full effect, go see (inworld link below) or check out video (link below)

In the box:
1. *Skye Snow Machine (HUD) - attached to your HUD (resize if required see Tip #5 below)
2. "Skye Snow" object - use this only if you want to rez extra snow modules. Not required to start with.

Control parematers include
Auto rez - calculates parcel size and boundaries and rezzes falling snow modules to fit
Specific Area rezzer - offer choice of areas of snow rezzing
Snow Type - controls intensity of snow flake
Snowfall speed - how fast it falls
Wind Speed - creates horizontal movement
Hide/show handles - to easily customise snow fall location.
Delete all snow - for deleting test rez areas and for spring time!

DANGER WARNING KEEP OUT ALIENS: this is a mesh snow system and therefore is not suitable for high click situations like a store, event, fair or club. I advise using a particle system for high click areas.

Note. This system creates snow swirling and falling through the air. It will not change the appearance of the ground or objects ie cover them in snow. No matter how much you would like that to happen. I'm sorry.

Prim Count: This is a mesh based snowfall system and uses LI (land impact or prim count)
e.g. a 40m x 40m area will have a prim / land impact of 6 (or for e.g. a 80m x 80m will be 24 prims)

**** FAQ ****

Q: MY HUD IS TOO SMALL!
A: Worry not! See Handy tip 5 below.

Q: Snow won't rez on my land!
A: Check your group settings! We don't want to rez snow randomly on your neighbour's land so the systems checks to make sure that you or your group own the land. So it helps if you set the HUD to the land group of the land you want to rez on.

Q: Hey, I don't want snow falling inside my house/club/gazebo/outhouse
A: No worries! The system is customisable - just move the snow module out of / above your house or delete it.
Click the Reveal Handles button on HUD. Use the handles on top of snow modules to grab and edit the module using SL tools. (also see Handy Tip #4 below)

Q: Hey, I bought this thinking that the snow would land on the ground and make my land all snowy.
A: Sorry, no can do. You will need to use terrain textures or snowy mesh objects to achieve snowy ground. (see related items below)

Handy Tip #1 : You can add extra snow modules to create areas of more intense snowfall.

Handy Tip #2: Try linking two adjacent snow modules for extra swirlyness

Handy Tip #3: A snow module is about 14m tall (which I found pretty good for all my scenes) but you can make double height snow (or more) just by stacking more modules on top by either flying your AV above snow fall and using the HUD to rez more - or manually drag a snow module from inventory on to a revealed module handle.

Handy Tip #4: Need more intense snow round a building - eg at front door - without the snow entering building? rez an extra module or two from inventory and shrink them down 50% or so - gives more detailed flurries of snow in just the right places.

Handy Tip #5: If the HUD is too small or too big for your particular screen - it's modifiable - use EDIT tools to change the size. Right click on the HUD and choose EDIT. In the EdIt window check STRETCH and it's easier if SNAP is unchecked. Grab a corner and drag it to a size that works for you. The HUD can also be minimised when not in use.

Looks amazing, realistic, but.........
It is snowing inside of my house, and the land is not getting snow covered as the pictures/descriptions show. I would love to give it a 5 star review, however, snowing inside, loss of a star, and not covering the ground, loss of 2 stars. Fail, for the price.

I love this snow maker and it is by far the best one I've ever bought. It comes with a simple to use hud and has gorgeous, realistic textures. I love the way the 'particles' don't disappear when you look away and the weather options such as wind, blizzard etc are great too. My one teeny gripe is that the hud could be a little bit bigger but that's really a minor thing. Great work Alex!

No lag & beautiful effects

This system is really incredible. I love the level of control offered, from the type of snowfall (very light to blizzard), to the speed, to the speed of the wind. You can add layers of snow to build complexity. And it doesn't create lag. It's also easy to adjust the pieces, so that the snow doesn't go inside buildings.

It's like magic.

The most effective and realistic snow system that gives minimal lag I have ever seen. Installation is so easy, a breeze!
