This script helps you organize inventory. It automatically sorts objects based on various principles. It can handle up to thousands of inventory items in the same time.

HOW IT WORKS

SORTER MACHINE (the prim where a script sorts items)

RECIPIENT BOXES (where items will go)

1. SET THE SORTING MACHINE
- Rezz a prim.
- Put the 'Inventory Sorter' script that you want to work:
INVENTORY SORTER CREATOR
(sorts items based on their creator)
INVENTORY SORTER NAME 4
(sorts items based on the first and following 4 letters in the name)
(change script's name to sort for more or less letters, replace 4 with 5 if you want to sort for the first and following 5 letters in the name)
INVENTORY SORTER PERMISSION
(sorts items based on their permission: copy, mod, transfer)
INVENTORY SORTER TYPE
(sorts items based on their type: objects, textures, landmarks and so on)
- Put all the inventory items that you want to be sorted inside it.

2. SET THE RECIPIENT BOXES
- Rezz as many prims as categories you want.
- Insert the 'Inventory Sorter Count' inside the box.
- Set the prims' names as numbers starting with 0 (zero).

Example:
0 (for items that don't fit into a category or who have no boxes);
1 (for the first category detected)
2 (for second category detected)
3 (for 3rd category detected)
... and so on...

3. Start sorting.
- Click on the sorting machine.
- Sorting will start automatically.

4. Re-sorting.
- If you want to further sort items from one recipient boxes, put the 'Inventory Sorter Re'Sorter' script inside the box.
- Add the sorter script that you want.
- Add box recipients around it and name them from 0 on.
- Click on the box to restart the sorting.

In addition, you can insert the deleter script to clean all items from the sorting machine or recipient boxes:

4. Collecting items.
- After sorting has finished, you can click on the recipient box to collect inventory or manually open it to extract items that you want.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. SCRIPTS can be sorted this way, but beware. Before they get sorted, scripts might start working inside the sorting machine. After sorting, scripts are rendered inactive.
2. NO COPY ITEMS are transferred to the recipient box. Be careful with them.
3. ITEMS still persist in the sorter machine after sorting (unless they are 'no copy'. Use one of the 'Inventory Deleter' to remove them.

SCRIPTS
<>INVENTORY SORTER COUNT
- Put it in the recipient boxes, it tells you how many items are inside.
<>INVENTORY SORTER CREATOR
- Allows you to sort items based on their creator.
<>INVENTORY SORTER DELETER
- deletes all items inside the sorting machine or the recipient boxes, including the sorter script.
<>INVENTORY SORTER NAME 4
- Sorts items based on the first letters in their name.
- The number written at the end of the script shows how many letters are counted (in this case 5, as the first letter in name is zero).
- To look for more or less letters in the name, just edit script name and write how many letters you want to use for sorting.

Example:
Inventory Sorter Name 0 (will sort items based on the first letter)
Inventory Sorter Name 3 (will sort items based on the first 4 letters in name)
Inventory Sorter Name 9 (will sort items based on the first 10 letters in name).

<>INVENTORY SORTER PERMISSIONS
- Sorts items based on permissions (copy, modify, transfer).
<>INVENTORY SORTER RE-SORTER
- Put it inside a recipient box to transform it into a sorting machine.
<>INVENTORY SORTER TYPE
- Sorts items based on their type (objects, alphas, textures, gestures, landmarks, notecards and so on).

ADVICES:
- Make sure you have enough boxes rezzed for the sorting to work properly.
- The scripts will sort items into categories and send them to boxes in the order the categories are found.
- If there are less recipient boxes than categories, all items from extra categories will be sent to box 0 (zero).

Have fun!
