Groundbreaking new sailboat from Motor Loon's workshop.
With focus on visual details, handling and lowimpact scripting MLCC is proud to present the OCEANIC.
This fully working boat is packed with detail work, and there's no standard building parts used - everything is custom made. You'll find it easy to sail, using the custommade Bwind-like system - you can focus on adjusting the mainsail to the wind and everything else is just about enjoying the ride.
A unique pose system was written for this boat, it allows you to remain sitting while sailing - but still be able to change to any pose of the ship. This goes for every passenger it carries, and we've sailed it with 17 passengers at once. The benefit of the system is of course that you often find yourself sailing in water where you don't have rez rights and autoreturn is active - so standing up while underway would have caused your boat to be returned to you.
Boat is no-mod, but - comes with a retexturing system so you can apply your own personal look. Any prim of the boat can be retextured, and it even comes with 4 different "looks" built-in from the factory.
Other cool details are e.g. the working folding-screw, working animated anchor, deployable fenders for docking and a WALK-IN cabin, fully loaded with furniture and even a bathroom. No extra rezzing is needed, no attachments needed to be worn, no HUD's needed for sailing. Everything is ready to go as you rez the 32prim boat!
Note that a free demo version is available, fully featured except from being unable to change from a paintjob with "demoversion" on it.

Superb sailing ship
As so many others I knew Loons bikes for years and was wondering if a boat was not out of his league. How wrong I was. I have owned many sailing ships over the years, so I know a bit whats available. Been sailing the Oceanic for a number of weeks now and I must say, its a new standard in SL: sailing.
- Excellent steering, very smooth and accurate
- A build in engine for those difficult places (forward and backward)
- Overhead text telling the skipper and his guests the boat speed and direction, wind speed and direction and if the sails are set correctly (with sail sound) This is perhaps not new, but very convenient and no need for a HUD. Wind and sail settings are easily entered as single chat commands
- Love the pose system that lets you change to 24 poses in- and outside the boat without standing up, great for 1 minute return sims in Blake Sea.
- All commands are either menu buttons or chat commands
- Sit on the bow or in the cabin and hear and see the water spray while you sail with 12 knots and still FULLY control the boat, no need to stand at the helm.
- Hand over the helm to one of your guests WHILE YOU SAIL
- Easy color and design changes are a miracle compared to what you see normally
- Mooring, dropped anchor, fenders, spinnaker, 5 camera settings , bell/horn are just a few of the other goodies
- if you are a small ava, just shrink the wheel to fit your size.
A must have sailing boat, especially when you like sailing for fun. And if you want to try it first, get a fully functional free demo version.
And while I am at it. The new Loonetta sailing boat of Loon is a beauty, although not sold on market for some mysterious reason. Gorgeous mesh design with all the Oceanic goodies, a bit shorter and wider and extra functions (Eject unwanted visitors).
If you like sailing or want to learn it without much hassle get an Oceanic or a Loonetta (or both as I did), you will love it
Perfect!
I'm not going to write a long review because the others have hit the nail on the head: this sailboat is perfect.
Great boat - too bad it's no-mod
Generally, I very, VERY rarely buy anything no-mod. However: This is one of the better boats in SL at this time. It's dead easy to sail, handles well, is beautifully scripted and has a ton of details.
I debated dropping a star off for no-mod, but it would not be fair to the amount of effort that obviously went into this boat.
Absolutely the best in SL
I really love this boat, it is worth every L$.......
One thing I miss though, an option to eject griefers, sadly there are those....but nevertheless, this is my favourite hobby now in SL, ..sailing.
A certain candidate for one of the best sailing boats in SL
As a relatively novice sailor, you would think that its adventurous on my part to try and handle a large boat like this. Not at all!!............ I have had mine a few months and can't begin to tell you the utter joy it is to sail her. (boats like cars are always she's). she handles fantastically and is very receptive to the turn of the tiller. Good for relative novices in sailing to experienced mariners.
Fantastic sailing boat, excellent detailing, great handling and such fantastic, quick customer service from Motor Loon who came out to site of my boat birth on the same day to help me get the British Ensign (flag texture) added to the boat. what more can I say. Brilliant.
I personally can not wait to see Motor's next marine offering and you will be hard pressed to find a better sailing boat at a good price like this in Second Life. I am certain that I shall be buying from this builder/creator again.
This is certainly a prime candidate for one of the best sailing boats available today in Second Life. Thanks for your vision Motor.
