Lalia, I never sail in SL as the captain, always the passenger. I always feel insecure about it (I know crazy right?)

Well, your boats have changed that. First with the SJogin and now with your Machichaco. Thank you Lalia, Looking forward to more of your designs. xo

Beautiful in form and function - as close to "The Complete Sailboat" as possible

The first thing that strikes you when looking at the Isard Machichaco is just how beautiful it is to look at. From a long way off, you might be forgiven for thinking it looks like just another (albeit pretty) yacht. However, come up close to look at the finer points and you will see wonderful attention to detail in the mesh and the texturing, to the point where you can see almost the sanding done on the wood during its production, and the interior is also surprisingly detailed. Its overall lines are very aesthetically pleasing too, so many congratulations to Ixeya, the mesh artist responsible for the build.

But the Machichaco is far more than just a pretty model. When you sail it, it truly gives you the feel of a real life sailboat, down to the groans and creaks from the wooden boards as the boat lists, and the wonderful spray and trail effects. From a sailing function point of view, it can be both extremely easy to pick up with the Autotrim mode on for those newer to sailing and yet sufficiently challenging without it to give more experienced sailors plenty to think about. Lalia's scripting work is of a similar standard to that of the physical build, there are plenty of very nice features like a teleport beacon if you fall off, camera recovery in case of breakage of the angle, integration with Lalia's immersive GLW system.

This labour of love is, in my view, the closest thing we have in Second Life to "the Complete sailing boat" - and at the time of writing, it is only the first version and no doubt further development will occur over time. If you loved the Sjogin you will also love the larger Machichaco, but they also sail distinctively from each other too rather than the Machichaco just having a larger body with the same script.

The Isard Team have really raised the bar here, and I am very excited to see where this goes in the future. Do not fear wasting L$ on this; of course as always, try out the demo first but the boat is worth every cent and more!

Congratulation Lalia, you and your team created a great boat. The look is great, the feel is great, the sailing is fun. Think also of the possibilities the GLW system add to this boat :-)

I first saw the boat model last year at Sailstice, and no along with others we have been waiting with patience for it to be released to get our hands on it... The wait seemed to take for ever but now it is released it is obvious what Lalia and Ixeya have been doing... This is beautifully balanced and scripted boat with gorgeous mesh work. The boat has challenge of innovative spinnaker controls along with friendly autopilot mode for times when just want a simple mode. A great boat for novices and experienced sailors alike!
