I Bought this HUD with high hopes and expectations. it's extremely expensive at 4k though it does offer a large range of ability's.
I has to say that while this HUd is one of the most visual impressive things I have seen on Sl in the magic arena it takes multiple clicks to activate anything making using this HUD in role play or in combat not only difficult but embarrassing. I hope this can be fixed quickly. some of the effects are quite impressive, I love binding for example.
Sadly all of the curses and effects with the exception of protection, are temporary. you can bless them away or they die on there own in a few minuets. If I freaking curse somebody I want it to stay until i ether dispel it, they log off or i move more then 96 meters away.
The protection spell, is relay cool, however it's almost useless. Unless a spell is coming right at you it will not be stoped. anything that attacks from above or below gets through the shield with ease.
that being said it's not all bad. The elemental effects are alot of fun and the large eldrich spells are great. So are the weather effects I adore thoughs.
Rapture however, is by far the most disappointing thing about this HUD. It rarely works AT ALL and when it DOES work it only levitates them for a short time, then it dies and they drop.
They are Supposed to be held there until you type /9endrapture wonderful, thanks for that.
I even IMed the created of the hud and he never got back to me. I will attempt to IM somebody at the Arcanum tonight to see if any of these issues can be resolved.
If not then this hud is worth maybe 1500 lindons not 4000.
Well Zachh does it again. Building upon the improvements of the Runestones and the Book of Shadows spell packs, this spell hud is much more convenient, and has way more potential. First of all, unlike Zachh's previous inventions, ALL of the spells in this HUD work sim-wide. It's brilliant. The variety of spells is very well laid out, along with the amazing graphical effects of watching the spells take place. This is expertly scripted, and the visuals are top notch.
I do have several issues with the wishmaster that I hope will be corrected. Often times, the spells require 2, 3 and sometimes 4 tries to make the spells work correctly (granted they all do work). Also, despite the product description, best I can tell, typing the spell out on channel 9 (or any other for that matter) does NOT work at all. Also, it is a bit disorganized in explaining how to end the spells and their effects. Usually the "bless" spell fixes things, but there are many that require the endspell command, which again does not work.
Apart from that, I think that with the errors in this product (they are few, but they are a bit irritating) this is perhaps overpriced. However, I do stand by my word that Zachh has done it again. This product is amazing. If you can see past the few errors of the product, you'll be blown away. Overall I give it a four. Definitely get this product!
At first I felt like I was being ripped off, as I already had the Vampire version of the non-hud one.
Well, fairly said. I'm positively surprised.
Not only are these new spells and effects, but these have been worked out much better then any other half-assed spell-hud.
VERY NEAT box.
People, don't bother doing the classic SL 'open' thing.
Just rez it and watch in awe as the Geenee (YES, a geenee!)
asks you if you are ready for these powers.
Answerring yes (of course) gets you the folder. Much handier.
Love the geenee face btw...actually, the geenee IS just a face...still cool though.
As many agree, Zach's fine particle effects only get exceeded by the genius in this hud.
Not many huds use the hold-LMB to using spells. Instead of senseless menu clicking and observing the effect, you rather have the spell set, and hold your mouse (not required in mouselook! but you can aim vertically when you are) until its been enough charged to your taste, and then let go ^^.
Or some effects are durant as lang as you hold it.
Love the self-tornado one. Magnificent use of sculpties and particles.
Curses are not easy to be self-tested, but IF you find a victim,
you'll find that the Dwarf one is NOT just a lame trick.
I thought i'd see the av disappear and have a dward object or texture replace the victim.
Not at all. Instead, it sortof deforms. But instead of being a hideous creature...
...its a dwarf. Genius. ^^
Having all curses undone by one seperate blessing spell is fine.
Though I might want to see a END-ALL button on it.
Just in case. One of the spells had me orbited up on 4500m (self testing, and perhaps lag made me push it multiple times, not sure). Though at that height, I was released and...
Well, was a fine fall.
I have a big array of magic huds.
And I can honnestly say this one is alot less laggy
then ones where I had alot less spells.
Not to mention those overdid their particle effects (being a secondary cause of lag).
This one however has a controlled use of them.
If you buy this, I suggest trying Ice Spear first.
Its not just a flying bullet, it freezes stuff! And not just avs!
Original design too. A scroll?
Take it from me I haven't seen a hud using that design (or atleast, decently).
Not to mention that there can be other ones made for it. Described below.
And, this one's a nice one, you can insert extra's.
Now, I'm sure there aren't much plugins for it yet,
but it sure open's doors for now!
Downside? NOT ENOUGH.
I know, I just like to have a whole bunch of powers and effects.
This craving will never get fully satisfied, so I shouldn't take off a star for that.
The Wishmaster is going to blow you away.
And if you test it out on yourself, you can take that literally.
Brilliant!!!
I have used other huds in the past, and i am still getting used to this one, but there is so much going on with the wishmaster. well worth the money. A must for any wizard or sorceress like myself who needs great effects. Would highly recommend that the spells are tested in a safe area with a friend so you know how strong they are :))))
Congrates to the makers !
It has bugs to be worked out - however, it's also easily the prettiest spell HUD I've ever seen.
I was rather reluctant to buy this after the default-particle-using, terrible nonfunctional disaster that was the sorcery wand, but I decided to anyway. Zachh has definitely improved since then - the effects are almost all memorable, with thunder, blizzard and bombardment topping the list. There are still a few default particles, but definitely nothing too annoying.
The HUD is great, another improvement for Arcanum stuff - however, and this is the bug I mentioned; most of the attacks won't work the first time you use them, even in nonlaggy conditions. Most attacks you have to "warm up" once before being able to use them, but for later uses they work quickly and smoothly, just the first time fails for whatever reason. (EDIT: Apparently this is LL's fault - even then, it kinda impedes usability, and I hope it's fixed by whatever side is the cause of it D:) The HUD is also a little pixelated and could do some smoothing out with photoshop or such - there's precious little reason to have sharp, blocky edges these days. Other than that it's a nice concept.
The package is very impressive, complete with a sculpted lamp, genie, and *voiceacting*.
Thumbs up, Zachh, I actually like this. I just hope it'll be regularily updated.
