** This is the DEMO version. It does not include the Server. It only includes a Demo Remote to demonstrate how a typical system could work. See related products for full version. The description below applies only to the full version.
The Networked Distribution System (NDS) is an in-world server/remote system that is an ideal solution for distributing kiosks or HUDs from which people can get your free magazines, catalogs, or other publication as well as other items such notecards, landmarks, product updates, gifts, demos, etc. They can also get links to your websites, SL Marketplace store, or profile page and can send you an email or check your online status. You can even set it to display interactive web media (media-on-prim).
** Now includes 9 styles of rezzable remotes and 3 styles of wearable remote HUDs
The NDS Server can also accept remote GIVE requests from publications created with The Creative Publisher (sold separately). This feature enables you to set up your publications with buttons for users to touch to get the latest version of the publication (or other publications, gifts, notecards, etc.) you put in your NDS Server. The combination of the NDS and The Creative Publisher is a highly flexible and effective marketing tool.
As of NDS Server version 1.5.8 (and later), it also supports remote texture loading and notecard giving for the Image Display & Notecard Giver (IDNG) when the NDS Remote Plug-in is installed in the IDNG. The enables you to update the textures and notecards for all your IDNG's grid wide from the NDS Server. This can be a huge time saver if you have several IDNG's in different regions.
The NDS Server includes a logging and reporting capability. You can specify which types of actions you want it to log. It will also log the locations of Remotes. You can get a list of logged actions and Remote locations via private chat or email. Emails can be set to be sent automatically whenever the log memory is full so that action records are not lost.
The NDS includes the following components:
- NDS Remotes (9 styles): Copyable, transferable information kiosks where people can get items and information stored in your NDS Server
- NDS Server: A copyable, non-transferable server where you store the items and information accessible from associated NDS Remotes.
You put all the information and inventory items into the NDS Server. The NDS Server contains a Config notecard where you specify what is available via the NDS Remote(s), as well as the texture to be shown on the Remote(s) and the touch sensitive areas on face(s) of the Remote (TouchPoints). TouchPoint technology gives you complete flexibility to customize the appearance and functionality of the NDS Remotes, and change it all from the associated NDS Server without having to go to or replace any NDS Remotes.
TouchPoint triggered actions on a Remote can include any combination of the following:
GIVE: Deliver the selected item (e.g. notecard, landmark, gift, demo, etc.) from the Server.
URL: Give the user a link to a website via a popup with a Go to Page button.
JOIN: Give the user a link to your Second Life Group's Info page where they can join.
SUBSCRIBE or UNSUBSCRIBE: Subscribe or Unsubscribe the user to your Subscriber Kiosk (sold separately)
