Sky-Roads Kit
===========
• Especially useful as sky-roads, but can be used on ground as well
• Carefully optimized physics for best riding experience
• Manually created LOD models for low land impact
• Materials enabled + no materials version
• All parts fit into building grid 0.5m for easy assembling

Dimensions
========
Default width of road surface: 12.2 m
Default width of road segment: 14.0 m

The width of these roads is designed for pleasant cruise speed. It is not recommended to shrink the curved parts, because the physics weight (land impact) can rise in SL. Of course, the straight parts can be resized as needed. Just note that the land impact of mesh in SL varies with its scale.

If you want to link more parts together, note that the maximal allowed distance for linking in SL is 54m.

Mesh Physics
==========
I paid a lot of attention to creating mesh physics which ensures the best possible riding experience. Thanks to that there is finally no vehicle bouncing or jamming into walls as known from other roads:-)

The physics of these roads is non-convex, because of the side walls which makes the shape concave (non-convex). Therefore the Physics Shape Type must be set to Prim Type (this options keeps the original non-convex shape).

LOD Distance Factor
==============
These roads has manually created LOD models for low land impact and pleasant look, but it is always better to set your viewer to increase the LOD distance.
You can find this option under Preferences - Graphics - Objects & Sculpts LOD (maximal value is preferred).

ChangeLog
========
Version 2.0 (06-02-2015)
• Added new helix and slope parts
• Reduced land impact of corner parts from 6 to 5 prims
• Improved look of the concrete texture

There's a reason why you see this everywhere

It's so common that you almost get tired of seeing it in so many driving SIMS. Almost ;) But it's so easy to put together, smooth and affordably priced at this quality.

With a little bit of time and patience adjusting the corners you can make a track with just about any width you like. Works equally well on the ground too IMHO.

Love it, but.....

This is a great road system, been using it for years. But I was hoping by now - since this is THE ROAD system, not the race track - to have Y splits and T crossings and cross roads to simulate real road travel!

Excellent cruising kit
full star full star full star full star full star Posted March 20, 2016 by Dacob Paine

This set of roads is perfect for motorcycle cruising. It's 12 meters wide which is great for peaceful rides and challenging corners if taken at high speed. Assembly is extremely easy as all parts snap to a 0.5 meter grid. Materials-enabled and non-enabled versions are included which is a bonus that I appreciate, as not all SL residents can make use of the advanced lighting model. An excellent variety of base parts are included.

I highly recommend this road building kit.
