For now LSL scripts can not listen directly to IM, and therefore can not translate Instant Messages. However Q-Translator provides three different tools to handle private translated conversation
1. Private channels: to translate IMs using copy/paste
2. Private messages: an alternative ways to send private messages to anyone within same SIM, you can engage a both side translated conversation (even only you has Q-Translator)
3. Messenger: a working solution to have equivalent of translated IM. Q-Messenger is a communication system to have private translated conversation with someone anywhere on SL Grid. Look at the video.
Fully works in no-script area
If you attach your HUD in a script area and you move into an no-script area Q-Translator will continue to operate. Now the HUD interface will also work as you were in a normal script area.

I promised to wait till i had used this. WOW its the best i've seen or used. Cool....
I was skeptical, but in short, this is the perfect translator. Not because of the dictionaries, fake accents, the features...
BUT BECAUSE IT FRIGGIN' TRANSLATES CORRECTLY! People understand what I say! That's more than I can say for 99% of the other options.

This thing is quite amazing! Fast and accurate... if what I say comes out as gibberish in a foreign language, it's because what I said in English was gibberish! GIGO :) Could do without the fake accents.. but that's just me. :)
GREAT TRANSLATOR!! Since we started our renting business, my other translator was giving me issues, I have never had a problem with the IOL Q translator, the spellcheck is a great asset as I always type too fast and teh translator quickly makes the corrections. Wonderful product!

I have tested a lot of the tanslators and babblers out there and so far they have nothing on this. I honestly didn't think it'd be different and it would just have errors on a lot of things, but even though it does try to translate the emotes and skips a very few number of words... it's just superb!
And though I only know English, I can still chat with a few others that speak other languages with some competency and understanding of the meaning. No translator will ever be perfect in the near future, but this comes close. I really recommend this translator over anything else I have tried in the past 3 years on SL.
Also, thanks a lot for the notecard showing how to show the lost characters SL neglected to allow in the recent update! =D
