Customer Support None-Existent
Bought this got error scrip errors, went through FAQ on website could not find answer. Left a support ticket after a few weeks no reply so contacted creator in world, still no reply. Not happy for this amount of L$ and lack of support.
This is the right one to get.
I had used the major competing weather control system for some time. It's lower end version for small to medium size parcels worked well so I figured the full sim version would work equally well when the need arose. Well lets just say it didn't scale up very well. The clouds looked bad, the precipitation looked bad, there was no provision for multiple weather zones in one sim.
Several people had told me I should get the Damani weather system. It took one of them coming over to my sim and running it through it's paces to convince me. First off, the weather this produces flat out looks better. the clouds are more realistic looking and it holds up for a significantly larger area than what I'd been using. I'm well aware that it's really not possible to do a full sim sized cloud layer, but this one can go well over a quarter sim sized storm and still look pretty good.
One can have more than one of these in a sim and have each control it's own area. It's still not a unified control with definable weather zones, but at least it works to that extent.
The ground precipitation effects are pretty well done. They work a lot better on a relatively flat landscape than they do in an area with rough terrain and subterranean features as my sim has. Once again, the smaller the area one is trying to cover, the better it will look.
I do wish the provision for weather zones could be added so one could use one central control panel to control weather in various zones in a sim.
Overall this works as well as SL allows for currently. For small to mid size parcels this is still the best option simply based on appearance of the clouds and precipitation. If you need a weather controller, get this one.
Great Weather System
A good friend recommended this to me. At first I was nervous because of all of the latest bad reviews. Packaging etc. HOWEVER I am glad I did listen to my friend! This was what I was totally looking for. I didn't have issues with packaging or opening up. AND when I did have a small issue (me for failing to read) it was actually in the HELP notes sent along with it. Read the notes before hand! Removal of the product is listed there. As with any scripted items in SL, yes there are always a few issues.....so read the notes before removal and moving of the product itself.
Have realistic expectations and you will be overjoyed with this weather system. I have clouds over 3/4 of my sim, SNOW, and snow banks. Quite cool. I made sure to have prims available for this system. Don't put the clouds over a house though, because the snow will fall through. BUT that is SL! I give this systems a thumbs up! It works great for me. :)
Amazing!
It works so much better than expected O.O I love it, I would recommend this to anyone looking to a weather system. Thank you so much!
