The goal of this system is to provide you with a feature rich, stable, good looking rental network with very low resource usage.
You'll be able to use this system to rent our stores, streams, anything you like! It's so fast and SO EASY you'll be up and running in no time.
With only 1 SCRIPT per box (versus 21 with HippoRENT), by switching to CasperLet you're bound to get a much less laggy sim!
Of course, you get the same committed support my customers shout about.
Here's a partial list of current features:
- A cool meter-style rent box, which looks pretty funky! It is designed to be rezzed on the floor, and has a popup prim for notices. It's designed mainly for land or store rentals.
- NEW - A mesh version of the above meter, with updated graphics, and funky new capabilities - only 1 PRIM equiv!
- An old-fashioned 1-prim cube rental unit, which is maybe more suited for applications like stream rental (or areas where prim efficiency is very important)
- Only a single script. Of course.
- You can set "states" which will change the position, size and alpha transparency of the unit when rented and when not rented.
- Remaining rental time calculated accurately to the nearest second.
- Can accept payments of ANY amount. For example, if the cost is L$200 per week, they can pay L$100 and they get half a week instead.
- You can also configure the unit to ONLY accept amounts that cover 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and 4 weeks.
- Full web management, including some nice maps showing you where each unit is on the sim.

- You can disable reminder notifications, and so can the tenant for the duration of their rental by touching the unit.
- You can reserve a unit for somebody, so it will only allow them to rent
- The unit can be configured to auto-evict when the rental goes overdue.. this can be turned off, or configured to a set amount of time
- The unit can be locked to prevent any rentals
- You can give refunds pro-rata, so the remaining time is calculated and refunded
- You can evict, refund, rent out, reserve, set pricing, set the prim count, set the remaining time or lock the unit all from the web interface
- You can evict, refund or lock the unit from in-world by touching it
- The tenant can touch the unit to see their remaining time
- Anyone can touch the unit to see info on the pricing, etc
- The units may be linked/unlinked as you wish, and the prims retextured - fully modifiable
- The units provide full prim counts and will display a warning when the tenant is over limit
- Units for multiple avatars accross multiple grids can be added to the same account. Everything in one place.
- A detailed list of rental units grouped by either status, region or tenant
- You can set both a minimum and a maximum rental term.
- "Soft lock" - this allows you to prevent the unit from receiving any more payments, but keeps the unit rented.
- Transaction log - A detailed list of the transactions including money received
- An API to allow people to create third party plugins (signs, doors)
- A notecard (or multiple notecards) can be delivered when a user touches the "Info" button
- NEW - Networked / remote notecard delivery via the included CasperTech DropBox
- A notecard (or multiple notecards) can also be delivered when the user rents from the unit, or clicks the "Notecard" button whilst the unit is rented

I'm a coder... I've been in SL for 7+ years now.
I've written vendor and rental systems for my own use for YEARS. BUT...
about 3 years ago I ventured into designing and selling something totally not related to rental system and it takes a great deal of my time. When I needed a GOOD rental system for my project I started thinking about what to make and how to go about designing it... and I realized it was going to take a great deal of time away from my current business and drastically slow down my production schedule... so I did what I thought would be the smart thing... I started looking at the rental systems that were out there to see if there was someone who had already done what I wanted....
I found CasperLet.... \o/
The other Rental systems that were out there were script heavy... they offered some nice features, and had been around for years... but... SCRIPT HEAVY. In some cases as many as 35 scripts per unit.
A couple years ago the good folks at Linden Lab did something smart.. but smart in the sense of "So you want to punch yourself in the face... fine, we'll wrap your hands in foam rubber and let you have at it like you just got off the special bus" smart....
They added a 'feature' to the second life simulator that would prevent the number of scripts you had running on your sim from crashing it and lagging it to death by reducing the efficiency of the scripts overall if there were over a certain number of them.
Example: you have 5000 scripts - they run at 100% normal efficiency. If you have 6000 scripts they run at 80% efficiency... (meaning they run at 80% of their normal speed... gah!)
So you can imagine... 35 scripts in 100 rental boxes on a sim... 3500 scripts... now you've got 1500 scripts left for content and still get 100% efficiency...
But if you use CasperLet... 1 script in 100 rent boxes = 100 Scripts! Now you've got 4900 scripts left for ACTUAL CONTENT and the people renting from you!

Love this rental system. It's so easy to set up and easy to use. Best linden spent when creating my SIM. Set up is easy and painless.
Easiest system ever!
I have used just about every rental system on SL (and even created a few versions of my own rental script), and this blows every one of them away. Extremely easy to set up and use, add managers, etc. Very low lag. I can't recommend this system enough!
Good support, and easy to use product
I had an issue with getting this working, but asked for helpful and rather quick support. It came rather quick for me, and I set it up in no time after my issue had been solved. You rezz a rental box near where ever you wanna rent your shop or whatever at. Other than my small issue, I like this product and highly suggest it over Hippo Rental
AWESOME RENTAL SYSTEM
I have several other rental systems in my inventory, keyword is inventory. The Casperlet system is the only system that covers every basis of the rental business, and it is very easy to use with less scripts than any other system I have tried. I also want to mention the great customer service which is very important. Whenever I had questions I received immediate responses. Keep up the great work :)
Much better than Hipporent
I have managed a lot of full sims ranging from malls to parcel rental and this is by far the best. This system is amazing!
Most of all I LOVE the region view for rentboxes. It lets me quickly find my rentbox and change the settings. It used to get sooo confusing with hippo but this is a lot better.
Oh and the customer support is great too!
