This is rain ... like what falls from the sky in RL. Just rez the invisible prim and it will begin to rain. Hit CTRL+ALT+T at the same time on your keyboard to see the prim so you can move it or take it back into your inventory.

Here are some simple instructions for the rainmaker.
Type in chat:
/on to start the rain
/off to stop the rain
To remove the item
1. stop the rain by saying: /off,
2. select 'Highlight Transparent ' from the 'View' menu in your menubar. (Or press ctrl-alt-t.)
3. Look for a large (8m size) red sphere, this is the rainmaker
4. Delete it

It's not full-perm...
I love it as it is, but I was building a scene that I needed to give to someone, and after rezzing it, it was anything but full-perm... But then again, it's a freebie...
