May 23, 2023 - Updated to make HUD mod, only so users could retitle it. It cannot operate if delinked, relinked or linked to other objects.
Basic HUD that will allow you to save/recall 8 different camera position & rotation combinations.
Saving/Recalling also chats the global pos and rot at least once per attach session.
Button Layout:
Grey/Yellow border - Resets camera.
Top row numbers - Change camera pos & rot to what is saved in each file.
Bottom row numbers - Save current camera pos & rot or clear existing data.
Top row numbers light red when data stored matches to the region you're in.
Active camera angle highlights the file number used in yellow.
Arrows - Show/Hide HUD (space savings on left or right side of screen)
Note - If you are sitting or have manually focused your camera, then the camera may not move to any recalled pos & rot. You may have to use controls or the ESC key to force this.
Caveats:
Cannot store cam pos if it is outside region.
Cannot recall cam setting in a region different than where it was saved.
Cannot be used in mouselook.
Typical Use Cases:
Save camera angles for a photo booth.
Save camera angles for commonly visited regions.
- Save/Recall up to 8 cam pos/rot settings.
Perfect, thank you!
I love this! I lose my camera position often when I'm taking photos - usually just as I've lined up that 'perfect shot' - this is such an easy HUD and perfect tool for my needs. Thank you for another great gift! <3
Great tool! Thank you!
this is a very useful tool for those times when you have your photo all set up, then realise you want to tweak the scene a little and need to cam back to do so. You can save the position then zip back to the exact same shot.
Also handy for product photos! Thanks so much!
Simple and effective tool to match camera positions!
If you're looking for an easy way to save/recall camera positions between photography shots and the like, I recommend Lucia Nightfire's "Camera View Save/Setup HUD". It made it a lot easier for me to photograph various avatars from the same, consistent perspective. And as Matthew Lesko might have said, it's FREE!
