Get a new perspective on SL, literally!
SL's default camera sits high in the air above your avatar, several metres in fact! This removes you, the SL user, from the immersion you would get if your camera was closer to your avatar's eye level. This also causes a lot of problems for builders, as the camera sitting so high up makes ceilings under 3-4metres a problem. This, in turn, contributes to people building huge double or triple scale buildings, and makes SL appear a lot smaller than it actually is.
This HUD solves that, moving the camera to an over-the-shoulder view like you'd find in any modern third-person videogame. The HUD's single button brings up a menu allowing you to change the shoulder the camera sits over, or even centre it behind your avatar if you prefer that!
For the average avatar, the effect is that SL is larger and more immersive than ever before! Low ceilings are not a problem at all. Even realistically low ceilings under 3m high are no longer an issue!
You can zoom the camera in close, looking right over your avatar's shoulder, or you can zoom out to still see plenty of space around your avatar. It's the best of both first person and third person views!
Instructions****************************
Just wear the attachment and let the camera fall back to the follower position after the HUD lets you know the camera controls have been taken. You can still zoom in and out as normal, but scripted camera controls remove "camera smoothing". (This may be considered a bonus by many!)
If the attachment fails to work, reset the scripts, detach the HUD, and then try again.
*****FIX THE CAMERA RIGHT IN THE VIEWER*****
You can now fix the camera placement right in the viewer, which works far better than any scripted attachment.
Open up the debug panel from the Advanced menu and make the following changes;
------(Right Shoulder Offset / Videogame Style)----------------------------------------------------
CameraOffsetDefault (In Viewer 1 based viewers, including TPVs like Ascent/Phoenix/Imprudence)
CameraOffsetRearView (In Viewer 2 including TPVs such as Kirstens, Starlight and Catznip)
X: -2.000
Y: -0.400 (Or make positive for a left shoulder view.)
Z: -0.200
FocusOffsetDefault (In Viewer 1 based viewers, including TPVs like Ascent/Phoenix/Imprudence)
FocusOffsetRearView (In Viewer 2 including TPVs such as Kirstens, Starlight and Catznip)
X: 0.900
Y: -07000 (Or make positive for a left shoulder view.)
Z: 0.200
CameraOffsetScale (Same in 1.x and 2.x viewers)
1.500
Alternately, some people do not care for the right shoulder offset that's popular in videogames. Here's an alternate version with a centered camera view.
------(Centred View)----------------------------------------------------
CameraOffsetDefault (In Viewer 1 based viewers, including TPVs like Ascent/Phoenix/Imprudence)
CameraOffsetRearView (In Viewer 2 including TPVs such as Kirstens, Starlight and Catznip)
X: -2.000
Y: 0.000
Z: -0.200
FocusOffsetDefault (In Viewer 1 based viewers, including TPVs like Ascent/Phoenix/Imprudence)
FocusOffsetRearView (In Viewer 2 including TPVs such as Kirstens, Starlight and Catznip)
X: 0.900
Y: 0.000
Z: 0.200
CameraOffsetScale (Same in 1.x and 2.x viewers)
1.500
If you enjoy the new camera placement and agree this would benefit SL greatly, be sure to head over to the SL Jira and vote for it!

Second Life needs to consider making this product a standard feature in the browser. This is an amazing product; I can finally see. Thanks so much for offering it free, seriously worth some L$.
very nice and great price
I really like this. It feels so much more natural and close up.
Good!!!!
Very good!!!
thanks for this free HUD
It's ok.
The camera movement isn't as smooth as I was hoping. It bounces around as I walk and there's a slight delay in movement.
I have a feeling this is exaclt why it's a freebie.
It's a good product though for us smaller SL people.
Very entertaining.
Pretty much exactly what I was looking for to change the camera in SL.
There is a slight delay when changing the position of the camera or shutting it off... but hey! The complaint goes out the window because this is a freebie. It's awesome <3
