This is why I went with a mesh body
I want to start out my saying "thank you for the demo" - it saved me $299L. I am very hesitant to even demo "standard size" mesh clothing (for the all-too-common reasons listed below), but this costume was so attractive I thought I'd give it a go since I'd lose nothing but time.
As usual, mesh clothing doesn't fit right. The S skirt has my butt sticking out AND there's a huge gap allowing anyone to look down the front of the skirt. The placement of the skirt cannot be changed, which means I can't get rid of the gap and fix the butt poking problem. Unless I'm clicking in the wrong places, it has no resize script in it. The M skirt still has my butt poking through, and an even bigger gap.
The so-called "mid-calf" boots are well over the knee. Although they can be resized, you'd have to have pencils for calves to get it below the knee (or incredibly long calves if you move the boots down).
Fitmesh is the ONLY way to go. Unlike the poorly named "Fitted mesh", fitmesh is form-fitting (no need to futz with sliders or resize scripts) and actually fits right. The dreaded "rigged mesh" rarely gets put in the optimal place, and there's not a thing you can do about it.
Bottom line: I gave it two stars because a lot of time has obviously been put into this to make it look good. Unfortunately, that was only true until I tried to wear it.
