This incredibly easy-to-use script set is capable of producing a professional texture / color change menu system which can be applied to anything that you wish to build in Second Life. There are no editing of scripts or notecards involved.
Large colors list contains 42 varying colours in 10 grouped submenus.
Textures are not stored anywhere in the item's inventory, instead they are stored securely inside script memory, yet can still be applied to any number of prims within a linkset. This method was used because it is not possible to apply textures to linked prims using a single script without distributing textures with copy and transfer permissions (since a copy of the texture has to be transferred from the root prim's inventory onto the surface of another prim).
For an example of items created using this system please visit Deelish-ous Designs and see the new furniture section, or take a copy of the demo version.
Due to RL responsibilities I can no longer offer support for this product. Please try the demo version (which is now a fully functional but no transfer version of the script) before buying to be sure it matches your requirements and works ok for you.
Instructions:
1. Decide which linked prims are going to change texture and which will change colour, then add the identifier scripts into the linked prims (you may wish to do this before you link with Ctrl+L)
2. Place textures that you wish to appear in the root prim's inventory. (You must have full permissions on the textures, but they will be removed from the inventory upon compile and will not be distributed.)
3. Finally, place the menu script into the root prim. Textures and identifier scripts will all be removed from the item and a professional menu will be compiled, containing options for texture and color as required.
Notes:
If you wish for a colour or texture only menu then add only those identifier scripts, menu options will only be added where identifer scripts are found.
The amount of textures that you can use is limited only by script memory, I have not put a set limit on them because it depends on the specific textures as to how many can be loaded. I have tested with 50 textures and it worked fine, though I would say the approximate capacity is closer to 70. Loading too many textures will result in a Stack-Heap collision error upon compile.
Full transfer permissions are permitted on the menu script (which will be the only remaining script after compile). Your creations which use this system, and the associated Intellectual Property rights, remain yours if they were yours beforehand.
Jessikiti's Texture Menu protects against content theft. It allows you to sell your creations without modify permissions whilst retaining customizability. It also removes all your textures from the item's inventory and stores them securely in script memory so they cannot be stolen.
This purpose of this item is to allow multiple linked prim's surfaces to be changed as a group, if you would prefer single prims to change individually with a seperate menu then I have developed a single prim version which will do exactly that. It can be used individually or in conjunction with this product.

This script/sub script system works well.. If it is for your own personal stuff, However...if you were to equip something you had built with these scripts. & Give it to somebody. Apon recieving it, the user u gave it to loses mod rights on a full perm or full mod item. For this simple reason.... to me this is a useless set of scripts and can only be used for personal enjoyment and make your lamp change colors or textures or something... which isnt very enjoyable..i could just buy a lamp that changes colors and copy as many of them as i want and put em all over my house and not have to deal with losing rights on the lamp because the scripts are no mod no transfer.
I had some trouble at first (notecard is pretty basic) but I figured it out pretty quickly.
Any trouble after resetting the script and you have to readd the scripts and textures over again. ;)
Does exactly what you need. Love it!
This is a great tool, I am very impressed and very easy to use. Thank you for a great script. 10 STARS
Simple to use and very useful, great way to give choice :-)
Perfect script, works great. Very easy to set up and use. Customer service was top notch. I couldn't be happer with this product and I'd definatly recommend it to anyone seeking this type of script.
I spent a long time trawling through the SL scripting forum, the SL wiki, and even trying to adapt my own scripts learnt from the college of Scripting, Music & Science, just to find a script that is summed up in this product. I have my own textures that I want to protect, but couldn't find a decent UUID script that suited my needs. I tried this product at the sellers store, and was happy enough to purchase it. Not only does it work perfectly, but the seller is a pleasure to deal with. 5 stars just for the product...without adding customer service to the tally.
