Tochitura de pork has a long tradition in Romania and is considered a food specific to the area of Moldavia and Muntenia. It evolved over time and became a symbol of Romanian cuisine, being often served on holidays, special occasions or simply on weekends when the family gathers around the table.
Tochitura is a traditional dish from Romanian cuisine, prepared from meat (pork, veal, beef, poultry), organs (liver, kidney, heart, spleen), sausages (fresh or smoked), ribs (fresh or smoked), fried in a pan or in the cauldron and served with polenta garnish with poached eggs and bellows cheese or grated telemea on top, in association with pickles and garlic paste
