My laser pointer uses new technology that allows you to own the closest thing to the real life equivalent in a virtual world.
This laser pointer can be used in or out of mouse look as an attachment or while rezzed on the ground.
It does not require build to be enabled when using it as an attachment.

Accuracy: Good accuracy can be achieved in mouse look by following these steps.
1. Turn off your AO (Animation override)
2. Close or deselect the chat window or chat bar
3. Press M to enter mouse look.
4. Tape the forward key or the key you use to move your avatar forwards
5. Press and hold down the left mouse button.
The laser beam will point with around %95 accuracy at what you are pointing at.
If you can not see the laser beam in mouse look you will need to enable “Show me in mouse look” Found in preferences under Move and View.
Using the laser pointer in 3rd person perspective or while viewing your avatar is possible but the accuracy is limited. Again press and hold down the left mouse button to turn it on and make sure your AO (Animation override) is turned off as this will effect the pointers direction.
