Rococo commode "Aumont" -C&G-

A Rococo chest of drawers replica of a piece designed by Gilles Joubert in 1754 for the bedroom of King Lous XV in the palace of Fontainebleau.

Decorated in rosewood and violet wood marquetry and luxuriously decorated with gilt and chiselled bronze mounts concealing the handles and keyholes.
The top plate in white carrara marble.

(recently re-acquired by the French government and replaced in its original room in the palace of fontainebleau).
