Skye Cave System Building Set

As a builder who loves making unique landscapes I love this, along with many build kits from skye. The depth is perfect, pieces are about as light on LI as anyone could expect with good detail and physics fit for a reasonable view distance... and the texturing is superb along with good materials (check the prefabs, the torches included will show it off) My only suggestion, as I come across this building with them time and time again, its kind of hard to match anything with them for a smooth transition from terrain to subterrain.. I REALLY wish there were a plugin to include texture sets to match your EPIC line of products... then this would really come full circle. Please please consider it Alex!

Purchased this to change out an older cave system I've used and this has quickly become my favorite cave kit to date! Very easy to get a simple cave setup with the prefab parts using minimal effort as the pieces blend together pretty seamlessly. Love how realistic this looks with the materials and various texture options. The individual pieces also make it incredibly customizable and allows you to really build as large or small as needed, you really get a lot to work with from this!

There IS much to love, like the fact the modular pieces have a thickness to them, they aren't paper/picture thin pieces.. and the fact there are different wall types and ceiling types so your shit doesn't look the same from one tunnel to the next, and even/especially the arches, ring, roof ray rock, torches, tintable texture options, etc. These are why I still give 3 solid stars. That said, I followed the suggestion to check out a pre-fab option first, and started with the large cavern-- first thing that stood out was that the Roof Ray Rock has no top piece-- which is to say the crack is one-sided so it required some ingenuity to make a top piece with a shadowed crack to be the "top side" to where the light ray is coming from. When I reviewed the texture options on that pre-fab big cavern, I found 3 of the 4 rather aggressive looking, which is great for creating foreboding scenes but not so much for more welcoming scenes, which the blue/aqua was the only one soft/kind/relaxed enough to look inviting-- which brought me to looking at the textures on the individual pieces, seeing if I could adjust the repeats, texture size, etc to customize the look a bit and found out that I can't do that because the textures have warped edges where they wrap around the mesh prim and the texture doesn't normally show, so it's more like a color bar seam than texture seam. Too, I confess being a builder who likes to use things for more than what they were built to be and in that, thought I might use some cavern wall to make/be cliff-sides of the same ground/mineral rock texture and found that not all of the pieces have LOD's that'll let you see them as they are from across the region (though some pieces were!) So, this cave system is MOSTLY intended to be viewed up close, inside it, with a few exceptions. If the creator/s are willing to consider an update to the package/info details, I'm willing to re-assess and re-review!

I had some of Alex' products prior to purchasing this cave building set, the Ollach Falls and both of the river sets, but when I added a final 1/4 homestead to my land holdings here in SL and had opportunity to complete a full homestead, I became addicted once and forever, to the wonderful products available from Studio Skye. I now have more landscaping kits and supplies from this creator than from all other sources combined.

The cave system immediately became the focus around which I built a multi-valley High Mountain area on my homestead. On the north-western slope of what once was a massive West Coast volcano (think Mt. St. Helens,) alongside a main falls and central river, in the middle of an Enchanted Forest there now is an open fumarole allowing access to three fully underground tunnels which once would have flowed with lava. One tunnel terminates in a hung valley behind a falls cascading down to the sea; a second is a blind end tunnel with a mineral pool at its end and an upward sloping side cave below a treed river valley above; a third leads to an opening at an escarpment - the only way out - above an exposed beach with nothing between it and Japan except the Pacific Ocean. Everything, of course, comes from Studio Skye.

Beyond doubt, purchase of this set is the best L$999 I have spent. Easy and flexible to use, it is textured in such a way that joints and seams simply are not there. Used with imagination, you will be able to construct any cave and tunnel system you ever could desire. Use the pre-built sections to start with, then modify and add to them as you will. Place an entire forest, lakes, creeks, and waterfalls over top of them and you will create a feature on your sim that will amaze all who visit. Good for unnumbered hours of enjoyment putting it all together, followed by more hours admiring and enjoying your creation!

Was looking for a sky cave, something that could fit my plot of land. This was the second thing that popped up in my search. I passed over it at first cause I wasn't sure about wanting to build my own cave but kept coming back to it cause there is really nothing much out there premade that was really low on prims/land impact. Finally went to take a look at this system in world just to see what it would look like. The textures blew me away as soon as I looked at it in person and all the parts are so low in LP. That was it, had to get it. Having fun now building my own custom cave specifically to fit my needs. Parts sit nicely together, can mash em right into one another if you want, do all kinds of stuff. This system is definitely what you want if you just can't find the right cave for yourself, just build it with this!

this cave system is so awesome. got friends asking to make caves for their sim. even add my own rock textures to it and looks so great. thank you this is a must.
