If you have set up a nice track for your train, and maybe a couple of stations, you might want to be freed from always driving the train via the HUD and have it automatically stop at the stations and make announcements.
With these controls you can make your train stop, wait and announce things at the halts and either continue on its way or reverse out if it is a terminus. This is what the Halt and Bounce controls do.
Also as your train drives around your layout you may like to make an announcement to your passengers as you pass some point. This is done using the Speak control.
Finally you may like your train to blow its whistle at some point to warn of its presence, like in tunnels or crossings. This can be done with the Sound whistle control.

I've always felt sad that I missed my Kitto Flora train when I had problems with my other avatar years ago...many years ago. I never bought it again because it was not copyable and because it stopped in time. How lucky for me that every linden invested in these trains is worth it!

I fell in love with this Clementine model, more rustic, a little smaller than other locomotives and better suited to my little rental places.
