Weimar! Presents;
Sash window mesh
---------------------
There is also a version with full perms, called the Sash window mesh builders version.
*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
This timeless sash window is perfect for every type of building, from the 17th century to today.
It slides open and comes with a little (decorative) latch.
The window is a Mesh product, this makes it very easy to work with and low prim.
LINKED it counts only as 1 prim.
It is easy to change the the textures, so don't worry about the dirty glass ;)
I've added a clean glass texture, just in case.
Comes with the original textures to help you make your own.
It has a very nice simple script in it that makes the window slide up and down.
*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.
More below.
*SCALE:
Most avatars and sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
I hate this.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is because you are very big.
*INSTRUCTIONS
-Rez the item called 'Sash window' by dragging it from your inventory onto the wall or floor.
-Right click and select 'edit' to move it or rotate into the desired position by clicking and moving the coloured arrows.
-Use this same window to change the size by selecting stretch.
-Left click the window to open or close it.
The script is inside the frame of the window and only works if the two prims are linked.
But you can easily remove the script and use your own.
It also works with the Hippo Rent system door script and you could use it to give your tenants windows only they can open.
Generally you will have to unlink the window for this to work.
Editing the window is quite easy as well.
-Simply drag textures from your inventory onto the window or frame to change them, I have given the frame 2 different sides so you can have a different texture on both sides!
Nice old wood on the outside of the house and nice wallpaper or paint on the inside, it is possible!
-I have added the original texture, so if you want to make a real pretty window nobody else has, open this texture in Photoshop or other image software to edit it.
*PRIMS/LAND IMPACT:
Land impact; 1 prim.
0.1 Download
0.4 Physics
1.2 Server
1048 Display
In short, they will only count as 1 prim.
*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-Click ctrl+D to add the 'advanced' tab to the options at the top of your screen.
-Click 'show debug settings'
-In the Debug Settings look for 'MeshMaxConcurrentRequests' and change the value to 128, this will not have an impact on how SL will work for you but it will make mesh look better.

Incredible Customer Service!
First of all, the window looks great in a variety of settings. Great attention to detail, functional and only 1 prim (I made mine a little larger and it was still 1 prim). I sent Jo a message because I wanted a higher LOD version of the window so that it wouldn't distort from medium distances. She was extremely fast and accomodating. Thanks, Jo!
