1932 Roadster v0.2.2

This is a very traditional hot rod. I finished the car with a very traditional engine rather than something more modern. Let me share with you the story of the engine.

Story-In the early 1930's this was the largest car company in the world. The competition had just brought out new cars with 6 cylinder engines that were more powerful than the 4 cylinder engines everyone had been using. The competition also had introduced more modern looking styling on the new 6 cylinder cars.By 1930 , 80% of the cars in the world were owned by Americans. Virtually everyone that wanted a car had one. This started a new phase in the car business. Instead of selling you one because you needed one, the new trend was to change the styling to "look" more modern, and equip the new models with more powerful engines - new 6 cylinder engines. Now cars were sold because they were the latest thing. You had to have the latest thing in cars.The founder of this company was losing sales. In the summer of 1931- the founder of this company sent all his workers home! The largest car company in the world had just closed it's doors! Shock waves went through the stock market. The founder of the company hated 6 cylinder engines. HE WAS SECRETLY WORKING ON A V8 FOR LOW PRICED CARS! There had been v8 engines in high priced cars, but they were expensive to make, because the block's weren't in one piece. The crankcase and the cylinder blocks were separate pieces , and had to bee machined, and were heavy. That was unusable on a low priced car. No one had ever cast a v8 engine block in one piece, it had never been done. The founder was sure he could make one and had a secret design team working on it , They were hidden away in Thomas Edison's laboratory. Internally inside the company, no one knew what they were working on, it was kept a BIG secret. They finally figured out how to cast the v8 block in one piece, There was a problem though, they weren't getting very many good block castings. At that point ,the founder announced what he had been working on and turned it over to his "head of production" for his company. Soon they had 99 out of 100 block castings good. There was an announcement that the company would be reopening and produce "new" model cars with v8 engines. The 1932 model cars would be restyled with new powerful v8 engines. People came from all over the world to see the new cars. Business was humming - the Largest car company in the world had just reopened. People liked the new cars, the press liked the new cars-BIG Success! Not only did people like the styling, the new v8 engine was FAST! Right from the beginning of the 1932 production of the new v8 engines came after market SPEED PARTS. They made new cylinder heads, new intake manifolds, new pistons. The new v8 became king of the dirt tracks. People also discovered that if you pulled up next to a more expensive car at a stop light, when the light turned "green" you were going to blow them away in a drag race. This started "drag racing" The engine was in production in different versions from 1932 to 1953. It had a long run in our automotive history. So I have picked a version of this engine for my car. The history of this engine and the 1932 car is simply overwhelming.
