Cool waving effect,
4 SL eco friendly written soecialy for this steamer scripts.
Amazing texturing, realistic looking by Half Life sources.
Unique technology of building, trying to use less sculpts.
BONUS - pierce old street lamp with info box, made specialy to this steamer.
(Comes in BLACK and WHITE version, custom RUST version only by personal request)

Old river steamer in the theme of century of Sherlock Holmes remembering about Thamse river in London.
Yes it is steampunk.

Control:
W/Arrow Up - power more
S/Arrow Down - power less
A/Arrow Left - turn left
D/Arrow Right - turn right
E/PgUp - full power (14 but you can overdrive to 20 using power more button);
C/PgDwn - full stop

Limits of power engine from -4 to 20 power
For more comfort power look for a color of hover text digit (it is above the lamp in mouselook view)
green is safe for sim crossing
yellow good but can be troubles
red not good.
If traveling you got black steam from engine with message Engine malfinction and then it suddenly explodes just do what usually captain do. Stop all machines. Crashing points become zero in this case. This trick allows you more power and speed, but remind you about safe power for trip.

There are 4 sit places without animations in them. What for if you have good AO with custom nice sitting and I can keep SL less from lag not adding 4 scripts to item?.

For using gangwalker (that thing at the roof) just click it, if you need to move it other side of ship, click it again, if you need to remove it click it again. )))

For using lamp, just click it

For making sounds touch bell or steampipe.

Used:
32 prims:
- standart (no megaprims used) : 27,
- sculpt: 5 (walker, bell, crates, cabin & controlwheel).

18 textures; (honestly already not sure how much but must be 18 include sculpts)
- 13 standart textures;
- 5 sculpt.

6 sounds;
- using prim memory;

4 scripts (SL eco-friendly):
- 1 active when sailing control script,
- 1 effect control passive script,
- 2 paddlewheel passive;

BIG THANKS:
- Ahab, for much testing and critics and comments, specialy about cam,
- Balduin, for testing and commentaries about functions, and visual effects,
- Rene, for very cool looking ship bell and testing,
- Manuel, for comments about and taking that cool photo of meeting too steamers at TradeWinds.
- Tasha, for placing photo at blog

BIG APPOLOGISES:
- to people whom I ignored when were building, as I do not see local chat while scripting, and there are also several IM tabs opened.

Got to love this boat
full star full star full star full star full star Posted August 11, 2019 by Nimoui

This boat is a little old school in its construction, pre mesh.
But the scripting and performance is amazing, unlike many boats this one makes you feel you are on water, controls are not instant, you have to sail this ship.

You cant fault the price either
an absolute delight

Get ready for the Adventure

I was quite surprised by the whole experience.....in a good way :) The textures are very well done. The engines sound authentic which adds to the atmosphere. I found it best to make my turns slowly as the script engine is setup to take time for each input to take effect. The bow of the ship begins to rise and fall the faster you go. There are puffs of smoke bellowing from the smoke stack. There is a custom wake at the bow of the ship as you move forward. The fog horn is great fun and makes it feel like I am in the harbor. I was able to steer in mouse view and watch the scenery go by. I kept expecting Humphrey Bogart to pop up out of the engine room at any given moment. For an oddity such as this item, it was very well thought out. I have to admit I wasn't expect much as this was just a lark to purchase this item merely because of the price. I am most happy with this purchase and would recommend the item to other buyers. So from my point of view.............Two Thumbs Up !!.......... I never did locate Sherlock Holmes, but I am on my way to pick up Dr. Watson..........Tally Ho

Nice little ship

I love the textures and the action. Great job. What I don't like, is the sign on the back which covers the captains head. Also the sign in front...both have the date 2011 on them. Not really in keeping with the style/period of the craft. Would be nice to have one made without the back sign and the date removed from the front. All in all, I love this little steamer!

Hawt Ride

Wonderful. Was looking for something different. This fit the bill. Steaming through the yachts and pleasure craft and along exclusive beaches this was a complete hoot! Thanks for a fun and different ride!

Magnifique !

Vraiment un bateau magnifique et tres réaliste, mais qui a tendance a monter assez hors de l'eau lors de l'acceleration.

Un vrai travail d'artisan, merci beaucoup !
