This Type A Ko-hyotek is battery only so you will drain battery while on surface and submerged. your drain is tied to how much demand your putting on the battery! ie throttle. to recharge you must fully stop your motor while on the surface. Crash Dive and TDC angle systems are disabled.
it may be a free sub but im not about to give our patrons something worthless! its still able to hold its own in the right hands. come join us in jeogeot gulf http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tulagi/9/244/40

this is broken down into states. for easy to use dive control.

====================///Battery\\\====================
Most will not apply for the Type A as it does not have a Diesel engine
WWII Submarine's have two forms of power. Diesel engine's & Electric Motor's
Diesel on the surface and electric below water.
a Diesel engine typically can only be run while air is being fed to the engine.
some submarines are equipped with a snorkel system that allows the engine to be run while near the surface. provided the snorkel head is above water
Power Loss and gain is marked by ▲ and ▼ the speed that it charges or drains at is tied to the throttle of the boat.
running full flank speed while underwater will eat your battery quickly. but running flank speed on the surface will charge it quickly!
the electric motor's will always drain power when in use. they will automatically switch on for you when underwater.
====================///Oxygen\\\====================
O² will slowly convert into carbon dioxide while underwater.
there is no way to refill air while underwater as a gameplay balance mechanic. you will need to surface but it will fill fairly quickly.
====================///Weapons\\\====================
Fire control is broken down into a few different areas. speed angle and depth.
angle can be set by the dial on the middle of your main HUD. this sets the torpedo's rudder angle before launch. they are not guided.
after turning their set amount the rudder is released and they take their course to target.
you can set the speed of the torp's with the slider to the left side of the angle dial
torp's can be set to be filled with water. this makes them fire at the submarines current depth secondly they can be empty and will float to the waters surface
this allows you to fire on targets without being fired at yourself. you can do this by pressing the orange button near the fire button.
fire button does exactly what it says provided you have them armed and loaded.
====================///Periscope\\\====================
the periscope will activate when raised. you need to fully retract it to disable it
this can be done by using the toggle switches up down and stop. in this area you will also find control for the snorkel and radio
to rotate the periscope left and right Hold SHIFT and press left or right.
the rotation of the periscope will be displayed on the secondary periscope hud. this however is an optional hud.
Version 1.8
Great starter sub!! Seems to work fine at the moment though at times it seems to go into a pause but that could be the usual lag in some places so dedicated RP's might get a slight delay but it's not a real issue. This is great for submarine folks wanting something to start out with and experience VICE. There are not very many decent VICE submarines out there. Meaning most are display, the weapons are for show with no effect or they look surreal and unrealistic. AT seems to be addressing this rather well. Hope AT looks into some modern submarine designs someday.
Great Design but...
The ship first off is designed very high quality and looks good with ALM.
But my complaint is that the submarine is outdated and does not work.
Following the instructions to rez the submarine again for an update does not
appear to solve the problem and re-purchasing does not either. I would give 5/5 stars
if the product actually worked the way it was advertised and for this I have to rate 2/5 stars.
Great stuff
I'm mostly a regular boater but being staff for SFF I needed something to test our underwater areas including water surface and submerged targets. This is just the thing and it even makes for a very effective general role in combat if you want.
Impeccable!!!
Just awesome and destructive!
I enjoyed myself today running from helicopters and jets ... but destroying a ship! LOL
Thanks to all who participated in this project in order to make it as a gift for us!
