AK ancient Greek KITHARA Version 1.0
AK KITHARA is a reconstructed ancient Greek musical instrument. plucked instrument with 5 strings originally, but later with as many as 12 strings. Kithara was bigger than the Lyra and it was the principal concert instrument played by professional musicians, the citharodes. According to Plutarch, cithara was designed by Cepion, a student of Terpander. Many instrument names like guitar, cittern, zither etc. derive from the word cithara. It was played with a plectrum.
This SL musical instrument is reconstructed according to ancient Greek paintings and statues. It was played by striking the strings with a plectrum.
AK KITHARA comes with two animation sequences: one resting, starting as soon as you attach the instrument and one performing. They are both visible while standing or sitting.
Wear the instrument first(or attach it on your left hand). Optionaly you may wear (attach right hand) the plectrum as well.
To use it you must first click (TOUCH) the body of the AK KITHARA. You can give new instructions by clicking on it again. After clicking you will be presented with a choise menu. This interface causes the minimum of lag.
If you choose to Loop or Play one of the Ancient Greek soundbits you will be presented with a second menu, in order to select one of the available soundbits. One may switch from one loop to another, making a live mix and may conclude a performance by just Play(ing) a soundbit. Performing musicians using their own streaming sound play in "Silent" mode.
The soundbits are written performed and recorded by Ioannidis Nikolaos with reconstructed Kithara's. AK creations has the persmission to use them in SL, for which we are greatful. http://homoecumenicus.com/Ioannidis-Ancient-Cithara.htm

Love it! Just Wish I could make it smaller
I love this instrument! The sounds are quite crisp and beautiful, and there has been no lag despite playing on a busy sim. The only thing that isn't so great is the fact that I cannot resize the item... It is too big and clips into my avatar. Ive tried editing it to scale it down, but unfortunately it's stuck where it is. :(
