ANIMATED (scripted) hummingbird objects are each made with five pieces: body, tail and three wing sculpties. Two of the three wings are hidden as the script cycles through the wing flap. You might see two wings positions visible a the same time as the transparent textures is switched out.
There are two variations of the script. With the flap script, the hummingbird hovers in place and the wings flap continuously.
With the flit script, the hummingbird moves and rotates randomly, flaps wings through a single cycle and then pauses for a random length of time. The bird moves only from side to side and forward and back, not up and down. The default range of wandering is 5 meters. There are several settings you can change in the script. The wander range, the maximum length of the pause, the maximim distance of one flit and the maximum degrees of rotation in one flit. You will find these settings near the top of the script and with explanations.
To set a scripted bird in motion: Rez it and move it to the location you want. Click on it. It will say that the animation has begun. To stop the animation, edit the object, and reset the script. To do this, select the content tab, double click on the script to open it and hit the reset button on the bottom right.
