this low prim off sim scripted passenger ship (Aida) has just 1 prim and slow surrounds your island in a circle of 512 meters off it's rezzed center.
You may have a look at it at LaCaribia.
Take care, because it's designed to surround a whole sim to not offend your neighbours. And yes, this produces minimum lag, because movements are done clientside.
