To keep it short, everything I disliked about this has been fixed, and with the price drop it's a no-brainer. Get it.

I finally bought your AVPack, after several months of MystiTool HUD use and this is a great "upgrade" tool! The other products like the MystiTool are toys, compared with this great HUD.
But there are so many new features, that it would be great that we could have at the Help Site, a downloadable PDF manual, as some guys (as me) do like to read manuals at the WC...
Ok, I know I can print all html pages from the Help Site, but would be better to have a whole manual.
6 STARS to this product. This is the 6th: *

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I love that this is a copyable item so I can add it to every outfit I put on! I like that because this is an item I will always want with me and at hand. To try and list everything that this has in it would be a real task, and the fact that you can add to it make it extremely versatile. The HUD has a lot of the options available on it, but no way it can list everything that it is capable of because there just isn't enough screen room for that. I love this product! I had been looking at this product for a long time, but the price was a bit intimidating, not knowing what I might be getting for that price, it would have been worth it at the old price, but at the new price, it's a HUGE bargain!

Purchased 10/7/07
Version 60
purchase price: 1999L

Wow! Just... wow! About the only thing the AVPack is missing is a TP history/favorites module. This baby is the real deal, its got it all and it's fairly intuitive to boot!

Summary:

AvPack is a deep and rich product. It's repudiation for excellence is well deserved and Built on the hard work of its creator, Supra Shang. However AvPack not the best product for all uses. Most folks will never need the various specialist products that supersede some of AvPack's functions. If you can only afford only one utility hud, or would prefer to learn only one tool, then buy the AvPack and learn to use it well. It will serve all your needs quite well.

Details:

AvPack is an interesting product. It seems to be a Kitchen Sink of gadgets, Gizmos and widgets and a few gewgaws. At first I rated this product a 3 as I was too new to understand how helpful and useful this product is. I had assumed that most of the product functions would be second rate, well how wrong I was! Over time, I've revised my rating to a 4. There are problems and annoyances with the system, but these are minor and can be remedied.

That said, It's well worth the money if you love gadgets and a central place with a extensible hud. It will take time to learn but it will be time well spent -- the learning curve will pay off in increased scripting, building knowledge and major help of all the first class vehicles, proofer/emote system.

It's a helpful product with so many features the new user will feel overwhelmed. Over time, you'll learn some very neat tricks:

1) You can add in items to the Hud menu. Just make a button for the object or script and away you go. You may need to contact other tool makers and ask for an item that is Copyable (but not transferable). This is currently limited to items that you have full permissions over. You cannot add many premium items that have one or more restrictions such as "No Copy", "No Transfer" and/or "No Modify".
2) You can store items in the AvPack and "rez" them in world so long as you have "copy permissions. This can get quite useful such as rezzing your favorite vehicle, that nifty custom posing stand, perhaps that Window controller for your latest build etc..
3) the Emotes are real nice. Got to jet for a few? just hit "/afk" and a neat chat bubble appears above your head. Very useful if you're in a long conversation in game and RL phone rings! Stock emotes include "Scripting", "brb", "Photoshop" to name a few
4) The scanner is quite nice and low maintenance.
5) the CamTP system is SO nice, it's not even funny.
and on and on.

I've not used the weapons (Which are most likely first class as well); nor have I mentioned many other toys in the AvPack like light bees, various vehicles, the full space station (Which takes well over 500 prims to fully rez or as little as 100 prims for a nice setup sans living quarters), the various spy bugs etc.

1) It's not newbie friendly at all. If you are new user there is allot to read and you may not be able to use the help system if your land does not permit building or scripting. If you ask a newbie question of the owner he can be quite short and dismissive. Not mean or even rude just .. Dismissive.
2) It takes some time to master or even learn about all the effects and commands.
3) It takes basic knowledge of scripting and Building to effectively make plug ins to the hud. And the hud is limited by Linden constraint: You cannot add an item to the hud buttons that has one or more restrictions (No Copy, No Mod, or No Transfer) to the hud. This means you cannot add many premium items to the hud to condense the number of huds you use. Knowledge of this limitation is not well documented but assumed.
4) If you are in a marginal sim, your client can stall to crawl until you remember the "/nolag" command. Once used, you need to be using the hud or click the AvPack (after enabling view transparent ctl-alt-t)
to re-enable the chat interface.
5) To make Full use of the Space station you will need at least 3128 sq m2 or more of land (4096 and above is much better) - which means at least US$15/month (and more likely US$25/month) in rental fees or Linden tier fees. You can use the Space Station on less land just do not rez the furniture in the living quarters. fully deployed with all the trimmings one level of the Space station can reach well above 700 prims. The prim use of the Space Station is not well documented. However to be fair, if you can Afford the AvPack you can probably afford to buy or rent a 4096 plot of Land!

Areas I've found that could use improvement or that are superceeded by other specilist products:

1) It's Rez feature is great but not the best. Unlike the PsiTEC weapon systems Rez feature, You cannot place a "no modify" or "no transfer" item in the AvPack. This is not a fault of the AvPack at all but rather, aubreTEC has quite a nice workaround for this problem.
2) The itp transporter is harder to configure than it needs to be and seems to suffer from a bug the Linden's introduced that slows the teleport effects to a crawl. The free Terra transporter does not suffer from this bug nor do most of the itp competitors. There are several easier to use teleport systems out there. However itp is certainly "good enough" and has some awesome features to it.
3) The AvChair is not the smoothest builder's chair for high altitude building; that prize seems to go to the Builder's Chair from the Bright Toolbox. However AvChair has some mighty nice features like non physical movement that make it very useful for non precision building work.
4) For all its features and versatility, the flight over ride is not the smoothest general purpose flight override out there. From my own experience, the "Conover's Super Smooth Flight-Helper" wins by a landslide here. However what the AvPack lacks in smoothness of flight is made up by its exact speed control and nice anti-splat functions.
