An antique hand-colored etching presented in a gesso frame painted black with gold detailing. The 17th century in Holland was a golden age of botanical illustration. One of the most beautiful books of this period was by Abraham Munting, who taught at the Academy of Groningen. The plants were drawn under his close supervision by skillful and dedicated artists.
