The Action Engine is designed from the ground up to allow for the simplest and easiest method possible for creating, editing, and saving prim-configurations and small furniture/device animations. It is a system designed as a plug-in content creation tool for moving levers, buttons, switches, windows, doors, running engines, and changing the configuration of prims "on the fly" in a highly modular plug-in style architecture without drowning your object in scripts, not to mention reducing production overhead on your products by providing you with a prim animation/event system that has built-in triggers and other script APIs to simplify your content right out of the gate.

Not only does the Action Engine take away the pain of creating prim animations, making it incredibly fast and easy to create and edit prim animations... my Action Engine plug-in system can replace dozens of animation scripts... with just 3.

What other advantages does the Action Engine give you?

Action Engine was designed with object interactivity in mind, so it is much better suited for objects that require a lot of little animations than objects that require large, complex animations with a lot of prims.

We have every-frame, forward-only, and reverse-only sound triggers which allow you to have sound triggers play depending on the direction your animation is playing. Make a single animation to open a door, a close door... just by playing it in reverse and a reverse sound trigger with a slamming sound!
▫ Use triggers to change the timing/play speed of animation while it's playing!
▫ Start/stop animations using link/say messages using our easy to use API to control the player.
▫ Play animations forwards, backwards, looped, or ping pong in opposite directions-- even set how many loops! Great for engine setups!
▫ Resume an animation, exactly, where you stopped... in any direction you want to resume, forward or back.
