Literally deleted an entire building and erased it for good because of this NO COPY item
I should have went with my gut and not bought this. I was making a large building that has taken me many hours of construction to make. Once i had it fully done, i decided to add some scenery and special effects to it. That's where this sound item came in. At first, I was like "Whoa wait up, it's No copy... " But then stupid me was like "Nah, it'll be fine, go ahead and get it! It's just ONE no copy item!"
Well, apparently this one, itsy bitsy little NO COPY item was returned along with the rest of the building. No problem. I can just re-rez the whole thing back out and continue working. But wait... my whole building was suddenly turned NO COPY because of this one little item that was returned with it.
When I tried to rez the building out, nothing happened. It vanished from my inventory entirely (Along with the NO COPY sound generator). It's not in my trash folder or anything. It's completely gone. And i've only had this item for about... 2 hours? give or take.
Anyway, this is a lesson i'll never forget.
NEVER buy No Copy items. Because if they go poof, the rest of your stuff that gets returned along with it will go poof as well. So there goes your hard work AND your lindens! There goes that huge building that you FINALLY finished and were so proud of! All because of one tiny little no copy item...
Don't buy No Copy stuff.
