AvPainter is a tool to aid the creation of clothing for Second Life, allowing you to preview clothes and draw directly onto the avatar model. It is a separate application that runs in Windows, outside of Second Life, exporting targa (.tga) texture files to upload into SL.
You buy the AvPainter package which contains these instructions and a AvPainter Computer. The AvPainter Computer is a stylish computer model that you can keep out in your SL home if you wish. On rezzing, the AvPainter Computer will give you your own registration code and url for downloading the full version.
The full version of AvPainter occasionally checks for updates. You will be able to download any updates for AvPainter for no extra charge.
Although they can run side by side, AvPainter runs best without SL running. SL tends to grab a lot of texture memory and slows AvPainter a lot.

AvPainter installer includes the necessary XNA/DirectX components. You will need the following:
A PC running Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 (32 or 64 bit).
A graphics card with PS1.1 & VS1.1 support

Though the product is good, i have mixed feelings about it having become a freebie
i bought this tool back in .. oh long long ago, and i loved it , was able to make my own shirts and so ons with it
heck even made my own skin with this tool! :D
i payed dearly for this tool back then .. and now it is just a freebee .. and a newer version then i had, so of course i had to grab the newer version and check out whats new
it looks a little bit different but seems to pretty much work as it did before
WONDERFUL tool ..
imho a shame to make it a freebie (but maybe thats just me)

This is a fun, amazing and educational item. I really have enjoyed my time using it, the only thing I wish I could do with this product is use with with Apple. The Instructions are pretty basic and simple and easy to use, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Unsafe Program
I bought the AvPainter today, but when I downloaded it, Norton Internet Security immediately identified it as an unsafe program and deleted it. I don't know what exactly the issue is, but its obviously a problem for me.
