In Japanese Jing Ti (警惕) means "Vigilant". This small vessel is very similar to the BRS Diligente in her gun layout. To the casual viewer, she looks the part of any number of Junk style sloops. To the trained eye or the experienced ship spotter, she is more like an 8 gun schooner.

At first the two forward facing bow chasers are quite obvious. Placed out on the forward deck for all to see. These are backed by two guns on either side of the ship for the typical broadside action. It is the two hidden in plain sight on the aft end of the ship that make this small and manueverable ship so deadly. Nobody will try to sneak up on Jing Ti and hope to get away with an easy sinking.

Like many such ships found throughout Asia, Jing Ti is a "Junk" with a lifting rudder and the distinctive Lug rig of similar Chinese ships. Like all such ships it is very seaworthy with water tight compartments and plenty of deck space hold people or goods.
