Color changing! A single low-lag script lets you easily choose among eleven different colors:

Note: If the earring doesn't respond to your touch, you might be in a no-script area. A more likely possiblity is you are actually clicking on your hair. Most hair is made with alpha textures; even when you can't see it it's there, blocking the prims you can see and making it difficult to modify them.
To get around this you can temporarily change your hair (or take it off), or, if your viewer supports the feature, temporarily derender your hair. Be sure you know what you're doing if you try the latter!
If your hair is a bother, consider making a copy for each color you use. If you do so, please delete the script from each earring. The script causes almost no lag, but it still won't hurt. A low-lag Second Life is a better Second LIfe.
Please make copies before adjusting your jewelry.
