Bell 212 Helicopter - Navy Rescue
Bell 212 helicopter, in US Navy rescue scheme.
Uses an improved version of my 2013 heli script.
Land impact is 77 but physics are extremely low, so this is GREAT at crossing !
Also, land impact doesnt increase when it turns physical, on startup.
Aircraft has convincing helicopter handling, with an advanced, low-lag flight script & useful features
but remains intuitively easy to fly.
You may carry a co-pilot and three extra backseat passengers.

MORE DETAILED FLYING INFORMATION
After engine start, you'll be in Taxi mode...
Speed is fixed at 6m/s forward, back, up, down and sideways.
Left/right turns are slightly slower in Taxi mode, for precision manoeuvering.
[shift]+left / [shift]+right keys, give left-right sideways crab motion.
Say 'f' or Press 'FLIGHT MODE' button, for faster, more responsive flight.
Left/right turns are more aggressive in Flight mode.
[shift]+left / [shift]+right keys, give left-right tail yaw.
(The following text, assumes you have switched to Flight mode)...
While forward or back keys are held down, thrust will gradually increase, up to a
maximum of 36m/s (70 knots redline, on airspeed dial).
Releasing fwd/back keys, allows speed to reduce gradually and automatically.
If you wish to slow down in a hurry, pressing 'back' key will slow you twice as quickly.
(Until speed reaches zero, then it resumes normal rearward accelleration).
If you are going very quickly, remember that it will take time to decellerate, so you
need to think ahead - it won't stop quickly.
When you reach your desired speed, you can press 'CRUISE MODE' button, or enter 'c'.
This fixes your current speed, so you can continue moving, without pressing fwd or back.
To disengage Cruise, either enter 'c' or press Cruise button again.
While in cruise mode, you can adjust your speed up or down, using fwd/back keys.
Each press will increase or decrease speed by 2m/s. (minimum 2m/s, maximum 36m/s).
After adjustment, your new speed setting is shown in chat.
Collective rate is limited to 6m/s in taxi mode but is proportional to speed, in flight mode.
The faster you go, the more effective your collective (up/down) keys become.
Maximum forward speed is 36m/s - max rearward speed is 10m/s.
Maximum collective max rates are about 18m/s up or down (Flight mode).
Vertical speed is shown on the VSI dial (HUD).
Camera views may be selected directly using relevant chat letters, or 'CAMERA VIEW' button on HUD.
RADAR button is 'Landing Assist Radar'.
Actual radar display is normally hidden, until you press the 'RADAR' button.
When you turn it on, scanner looks for nearby helipads (up to 4, within 30m range).
Steer towards the dot, for a perfect landing.
Meter at right-side of display, shows height of helipad, relative to your aircraft.
The radar is so accurate, you can land without being able to see the helipad...
ie at night, or even backwards !
If you prefer, you can use your own helipad, instead of the included one - but you
need to rename it to 'helipad' (lowercase) - then it should work ok with the radar.
Guest mode:
Owner may touch helicopter (anywhere except the doors) and type 'g' to switch
guest mode (any pilot) on/off.
You have a choice of matt or shiny paint - just type 'shiny' or 'noshiny'.
Box includes fullsize and Tiny helicopters, control HUD, mod/copy helipad & comprehensive instructions.
Mesh model by Adrian Faulkwing - everything else by Ashone Mahogany.
- Mesh/prim hybrid 77 land impact (26 for Tiny)
- Custom scripts, sounds, textures and animations
- Chat or HUD commands. Guest mode.
- Can carry 5 people (pilot, co-pilot & 3 passengers)
- Moddable prims, for re-painting.
Great helicopter
The build is good looking and modifiable, while the original flight script is very reliable and fun to fly. Also the unique precision landing radar is unique and reliable. The helicopter is modifiable, so I could customize it quite a bit. Excellent job
Terrific
This is a terrific helo and the handling is quite good. The HUD makes it very easy to set up for flight. I could have done without the 'tiny' model in the package and would have preferred a non-scripted, low prim display model and NAS Ashfield on the side. You can't beat the price for the quality.
