Boat finder - Boat must be modifiable. Tired of losing your boat while out riding? Having to look for one of the few free rezz locations? Having to cut your trip short, or return to your land to rezz out a new boat? That is if your land is near the water! The faster your boat, the more likely you will get bumped.
This is all part of the boating experience. So we are presenting just one more tool to help solve some of these problems. However, here is what it will not solve, crashes, your screen getting locked, your avatar not being able to move, your boat being returned when you get bumped. These are also part of boating life (sad to say).
But let me tell you what it will do, it will allow you to find your boat, even if it is not in the same region, it will give you the location of your boat. It will also tp you using the world map. In SL your boat could be right next to you and you may not see it! Even if it is in a different region, not a problem with the tracker, it will find your boat anywhere on the grid, not that your boat will be that far from you, but still lost. This tracker is testing at an 85% find rate, meaning nothing in SL is perfect, enough said.
Some of the things you will still have to work around once you have crashed are, your HUD is no longer synced. Meaning it will no longer find your boat. Here is the order of a nice save.
1.You hit region crossing, you get bumped from your boat.
2.You go into the water, boat auto stops.
3.You hit the park and your boat engine cuts off ( the park button does not work on all boats ).
4.The boat stops.
5.You hit find, the location of your boat is displayed.
6. You hit TP, the world maps opens or you open it.
7. You TP to the location.
8.You are now over your boat, two regions from where you were kicked, you get back on your boat and keep riding!
These are some of the ways this product will help you to enjoy boating a little more.
So if you are looking to have more control of your boat outing while still keeping track of your boat when you are out riding the deep, rough water, Boat Finder is the way to go! This was made with the motorboats in mind, but it will work on sailboats as well. From what I understand it is not needed as much for sailing, but it can still be useful. This, like anything else, means the more you work with it and get used to using it, the more it will help! You will see how it is a must-have item that will enhance your boating lifestyle. great locator
took boat onto the blake sea, area where i have lost many boats, but i would say, i found boat 4 out of the 5 times I got bumped. took a little work to get timing right on stopping the boat. once i got the hang of it, it worked well, and did just what i wanted it to, locate my boat
