The Boom Barrier Set for a railway level crossing consists of an automatic barrier, warning lights, and an advance warning road sign. They are intended to be controlled by script incorporated into an existing system, but can be tested manually. A manual control button is included for those who prefer it. As in RL, on receipt of the trigger command the amber light turns on, followed by alternately flashing red lights, at which point the boom lowers. When the release command is received, the lights turn off and the boom is raised. Any number of barriers can be operated independently within the same communication range by adding distinguishing names or numbers to their description fields. The booms are 5m long (modifiable) and may be used as either full or half road width. The direction of rotation can be changed using a button on the control cabinet.

Full instructions are given in a notecard in the set folder.

This item is part of the Tracker System Railways accessory set.

I bought this because it was a very good representation of how it looks in the UK, which fits in with our Highlands of Scotland excellently.

If, like me, you are a fan of Brit Balogh's trains, this item can be controlled by their SLRR multifunction sensors and works perfectly. I now have auto closing barriers as the train approaches; just what I wanted!
