The BOSS 225 takes you back to the heydays of powerboating, back when gas was cheap, engines noisy and boats were made of wood. Designed decades before the first usable computer hit the market, these boats were surprisingly powerful and had superb handling. Engineered by feel, built by eye, and some real love for the trade these boats were prime examples of classic craftsmanship.
The BOSS 225 gives you the opportunity to own and drive a piece of history, from the original two stroke outboard sounds, to the radio that plays you the rockabilly songs of the 50s, everything is designed to give you an immersive experience. Many animated parts, like the wheel, prop, hatch, throttle, working instruments, light & fuel system, deployable fenders and cockpit cover, its all there.
The BOSS 225 seats two, and has automated poses for you and your crew, pullstarting the engine, refueling, lounging, nothing is left static on this boat. Like Bandit, Boss Craft is specifically made for Second Life, and has custom LOD/Physics models, and the realistic BOSS Dynamic boat engine. The mesh parts on the boat are modify for easy re-texturing.

bit older maybe, but still very good
drives smoothly, low LI, wooden design (looks better than the Monaco option that also comes with it imho), so yes, if you want a good wooden motor boat with outboard engine, still a great choice
Good boat
This boat is basically a version of the Boss Craft 225V. I decided to buy it instead of the 225V mainly because i realized I had two power boats, but they both had inboard engines so I wanted some variety. Plus this version seems prettier. Boy am I glad I did.
The outboard motor allows a lot of animations that couldn’t exist on a craft with an in board motor. Starting the engine and lifting it out of the water see your avatar climbing over the back of the boat to do the task. It’s very enjoyable to see. In fact, the level of animation detail in this boat is truly a joy to see. The boat itself is beautifully rendered too. Even the gauges actually work, although I wish it had an instrument HUD. The gauges are just too hard to read because they are much too small.
True to its origins in the 1950s, the 225 is not fuel efficient. It does run out of gas and need a refil fairly frequently. But refueling is no problem. You don’t need to buy fuel. Just type “fuel” and watch your avatar go refuel the board. There’s another great animation, in fact.
Apart from the lack of a HUD display, I think my main critique would be the way it moves. It doesn’t move badly at all, but it is not as realistic as more recent boats. I also have a bandit SRV210, for example, and it moved much more like a real boat. I think this is just the difference between a 2014 and a 2018 creation.
The SRV210 is the power boat i use most often. But I still like this one too and I take it out pretty regularly. I cannot imagine anyone being dissatisfied. I highly recommend it to anyone.

This boat is so easy to use, and goes over the sim lines so easily, it is so fun to use when I am not actually sailing.
A bitch to let my GF drive
Beautiful but a bitch to let my friend drive. I had to type 'give control' she had to type 'request control' but i had to be in, and driving, for those commands to work. So she can only ever drive from the passenger seat. Frustrating in the extreme.
