Remember to turn on particle effects in preferences to be able to see this.

At first it doesn't appear to do anything. Just be patient.
Add the negative poofer when you're with someone you don't like. Add the positive poofer when you're with someone you do. The particle effects are what form the shapes, and they do it regularly. You can probably add both together too but I'm not sure why you would.
