The roots of winter festivities run old and deep, far beyond the cola franchise Santa's and opulence of plastic and circuitry. There are many various celebrations and names for the holy days during the dark times; Juul/Yule/Jól, Winter Solstice, Mōdraniht, and Saturnalia are three very commonly named.
