CFF - Notecard giver - Ball Typewriter
A pure exercise in steam punk imagining, this ball typewriter is based upon an actual typewriter designed by Hansen in the 1870's.. a precursor to the patents that were eventually accepted as the standard.
Hansen, working with deaf and mute children, wanted to give them a means of communicating.. speaking with their hands. He devised a typing system that was the father of modern typewriters, arranging the keys around a "ball" to make the keys easier to find. His method did not catch on, but the machine itself, delights the senses.
This is a pure ode to steampunkery. Gleaming brass gear highlights.. copper keys move up and down when touched, with a clacking sound. Upon completion of the keys movement, it delivers a notecard (of your choosing) to the individual who touched it. With an ivory piece of paper sticking out, and a sign that says "Please Touch Me", this is a conversation piece.

I love this! It's quite small, but stretched out very nicely. I also wanted a Notecard Drop Box and Online Indicator instead of a Notecard Giver, but with this lovely Steampunk outside. So I also bought the LJS Victorian Wall Post Box II and put it's script inside this one, removing all of it's original scripts except the audio one which makes the key clacking sounds (if you do this, you'll be modifying your only copy, so buy two if you want the original as well). Fantastic product.
