"CSS Virginia" Ironclad Warship ICS Version 1.0
***************************
The Arctor CSS Virginia.
***************************
The CSS Virginia was the first ironclad built in America. It was made from the salvaged wreck of the USS Merrimack, putting a heavy casemate armour upper deck onto the hull of the wrecked steam screw ship. Designed to break the Union blockade, the news of it's construction caused the Union to rush development of their own ironclad and leading to the first ever battle between iron armoured ships.
Massively detailed mesh casemate and deck furniture, meticulously reconstructed from plans and drawing of the original. This ship is the product of extensive research to ensure accuracy from the dimensions of the ship, angles and curves of the side and precise arrangement of cannons. The finished result is the most accurate ironclad reproduction ever created in SL.
It has a 1500 core, 6 heavy cannons, 4 Medium cannons including 2 aimable cannons on the bow and stern and a medium Ram.
The HUD uses analogue sliders for aiming, faster and lower lag than buttons, and far more accurate, as you can elevate to absolutely any angle at all with incredible precision. The moveable cannons are animated with moving port covers.
There is space for 2 gunners and the captain and crew members can move into the wheelhouse cone to get mouselook view through the viewports.
The HUD provides advanced camera control, with follow cam modes and full rotation, allowing you to look in any direction in order to see where you are shooting while on the move.
The entire HUD uses only a single script, and in the boat, the weapons are all turned and fired by a single script, which also deals with damage effects, float text, ammo, and all other combat functions. This greatly reduced script load on the server and reduces lag dramatically, particularly as Link Messages are kept to a minimum which reduces lag.
The lifeboats can be stowed for battle using a switch on the HUD.
