Introduction and Overview

The Skylight is an SL photography tool that makes it easier for you to work with WindLight (SL's natural lighting), and with camera angles.
For your photoshoot you might have a certain mood in mind, requiring that very specific ambient lighting, but only from the name it's difficult to guess the effect of a WindLight preset. Or you might have a handful of favorite presets; by now you know their names, but it's a pain to apply them, scrolling through all the available ones.
It might also frustrate you to set up the perfect shot, but once you have your angle, you still need to zoom in and out with your camera to set lighting and props right — or you want the exact same angle for a series of shots; a delicate thing to do since your carefully chosen camera angle can be lost quickly if you're careless for an instant.
This is where Skylight comes in handy, helping you
★ browsing existing WindLight presets visually on your personal Skylight webpage (Skylight comes with the 735 default viewer prestes pre-loaded),
★ adding your own WindLight presets,
★ creating your set of favorite presets, which you can apply with a single click on the Skylight HUD,
★ saving and restoring camera angles.
IMPORTANT NOTE: to use this device, you'll need an RLV-capable viewer with RLV activated. The official SL viewer does not support RLV, but almost any third-party viewer will work.
The Skylight HUD

The easy-to-use Skylight HUD is one of the essential parts of the Skylight system. With it, you can apply your favorite WindLight presets with a single click, record the currently active settings as a new preset, and save and restore camera angles. It is also the gateway to your online Skylight webpage.

The Webpage

Your personal Skylight webpage displays the WindLight presets. It comes pre-loaded with the ones that come with the viewer by default and are searchable by name, time of day, and color.
On the website, you can manage your WindLight presets and favorites, and your camera angles, as well as directly apply a WindLight preset in your viewer by selecting the respective preset on the webpage.

Awesome Windlight Hud!
This hud is a must if you take pictures with different windlights! And I love that I can put my own custom windlights in it too. I had a question about finding the preset windlights on the browser page and having the hud display the windlights inworld (make sure you have media on) and Carlyle was friendly and helped me figure it out. :) I will definitely tell my friends about this!
Nice have for fast Sky switching
This now supports recording PBR sky presets. Just make sure to load the default PBR midday preset in between loading Skylight presets just to avoid some inconsistencies like PBR "shading" not loading correctly.
Skip the color filtering feature, it is not usefull at all.
Do not pay to much attention to the default pictures created for presets, sometimes this picture may suggest it is a "sunrise" preset while the sun is really shining on the opposite "sunrise" horizon inworld.
The web interface is missing a way to sort presets other than alphabetically.
Fixed and working perfectly
I originally gave this hud a low rating because the adding to favourires from the Webpage option was broken but after speaking with Carlyle about it she has fixed it and is now working perfectly :)

Carlyle is one of SL's top developers. Its products, in addition to being more than honestly priced, are beautifully developed, full of smart options, with very clear interfaces and easy-to-understand operation for virtually anyone. Already for all this, 5 stars are very few. I would like to add that: I contacted her in the past for some questions about another product of hers, and she was very fast into reply, very courteous and really helpful in helping me with my "problem". I wish all SL makers offered the same quality of products and service. Super-ultra-mega recommended!

Carlyle, clearly put a lot of thought and time into making this product and it's simply amazing. As a sim designer, etc... I would have gladly paid 10 times more for something this professional. From the moment I wore the HUD and opened the my personal web page with all the settings, I found myself saying "WOW WTF" ~ Wish I could give it a billion stars cause 5 stars in not nearly enough!
