New furniture was ordered for Marie Antoinette's bedroom in Petit Trianon in 1787. The design must have been done by Jean-Démosthène Dugourc. The work went to carpenter Georges Jacob, who was able to bring to life the particularly original drawing made of wheat tied by ribbons, around which are wrapped branches of ivy and jasmine. Clusters of lily of the valley complete the decor as well as pine cones, at the base of the feet and at the top of the backrest. The natural paint is due to a real painter, Chaillot de Prusse. These seats have also retained their original upholstery, covered with a basin embroidered in the workshops of the widow Desfarges in Lyon. The frame is made of garlands of roses and in the center is bouquets of wildflowers.
