As the years passed by so taste in art, and furniture did change as well. As Most of European palaces, châteaux and castles now have 19th or 20th century furniture, depending on when is the last time they served as places of residences. Some of them have original 18th century furniture or below, but they are quite rare.

On the other hand, private chapels in those palaces and châteaux mostly haven't been affected by changing fashions. Aristocratic families proudly kept the objects their ancestors used for worshiping, and add one or two new pieces of furniture. We can see that practice in this collection called "Chapel Royal", that would certainly pleased any 18th century monarch or member of high nobility for their private place of worshiping. It contains object from late middle ages all up to mid 19th century, comprising five major art movements that changed in the passing centuries. Most of the objects are from Italy (or Rome, as the center of Christianity), France and Poland.
