Body lights are wonderful! They make you look great. They are terrific as a photographic aid. They are used in modeling and performing. They are an all-around, useful tool in Second Life.

But, try to find a good one.

I have purchased a number of body lights, but I could never find one that did a good job of illuminating my entire body. Either I ended up with dark rings under my eyes - or weird shadows elsewhere.

Over a year ago, I started experimenting with different prim types and arrangements. Eventually, with time, I came across something that finally did the trick. The prims which created the best lighting arrangement resembled an egg shell - an egg shell opening from four sides at the top. It provided the full illumination that was lacking in other types of body lights.

Wouldn't you know it that nature would provide the answer!

Of course, you really don't see the prims. They are invisible, but the arrangement works incredibly well. (By the way, all of the lights in this package are copy and modify, so you can see how it is constructed and even change things around if you'd like.)

Let me tell what this package is not. It is not a menu operated system. I did that on purpose. I found that menu operated body lights are a pain. I already have too many menu operated gizmos. I wanted something with lots of choices, of course, but I wanted something that was EASY TO USE.

This is easy, very easy. Just pick out the light you want and wear it. That's it.

When you open the package, you'll find a few commonly used body lights, but the rest of the lights are in four (4) packages. Open each of the packages and place them in their own sub-folders in a main Body Light / Face Light folder.

The four packages include:

- Body Lights. In this package, you'll find a huge selection of body lights in three illumination levels, and a series of colors. You'll find all of the common subtle photographic colors to get just the right skin tone, but there are some real wild ones too. Save those for when you feeling a wee bit reckless.

- Specialty Body Lights. These are made to illuminate just one side of the body. There's one set of lights for the front profile and one set for the back profile. Mostly, these are handy for photographic work when it's necessary to concentrate on one part of the body and you need as much light as possible to bring out the details.

- Face Lights. You'll find two packages. One package includes face lights which attach at the chin and the other are lights that attach at the mouth. With the newer Second Life viewers, having both types isn't really necessary, but it can be a life saver if you're still using an older or an alternative viewer.

Here's a caveat. Note that the "low glow" facelight combined with dark colors will be pretty dark. I went ahead and included them, but it best to use "full bright" with the dark colors. That's not a problem, however, with the body lights, In that case the dark colors and low glow work fine since you are dealing with a larger surface area.

One other note. If you are using older viewers, make sure that your lightening details are set to "nearby local lights." In older viewers, go to edit > preferences > graphics detail > lightening detail > nearby local lights.

Try it out. I think you'll be happy with it. If not, the package is guaranteed. If you purchase it, and if for some reason, it's not for you, let me know. I'll take care of it. That's my promise.

**SPECIAL OFFER: If you purchase any four (4) items from me, you can get the fifth item free! You'll find a illustrated catalog at my website: http://chimerafire.wordpress.com/xstreet-catalog. (This is the best link since it goes to a nicely organized catalog on my website. There's also a second choice, but not organized as quite as well, by clicking "Visit the Store" link above.)

There's no minimum on the items that you purchase, nor is there any limit on the price of the free item. It's really quite a deal! All I ask is that you make your purchases within two days. To get your free item, just send me (Chimera Firecaster) a notecard with the name of the free item - and I'll send it to you right away.

A big mwah!

Not what I expected

I use face light all the time. I am using cheaper one that I can adjust the intensity and change color if I want. So I like wearing face light. The only thing that bothers me is when people likes to use full bright in full radius that is blinding. That said, this Body Light Mega Package illuminates more the ground instead of giving the avatar a good amount of glow.
Body Lights: Illuminates more the ground.
Face Light-mouth attachment point: Full Bright-a bit too dim for me.
Specialty Body Light - front and back profile: it illuminates more the ground.
Face light chin attachment point: full bright is too dim.

I was excited to buy this. I like taking pictures myself and this can be a good additional for photography. I am looking for a body light that "only" illuminates my avatar and not more around it or below it. It is not what I expected it to be and I am not sure if I will ever use it....so 2 stars.
